This is a photo of me from 2018 at the beginning of this journey with . That is literally the first printed copy of the publication in my hands. I was idealistic, confident and stubbornly driven to push forward with an idea many naysayers didn’t think would work.
Six years, eleven issues, and 2500 pages of industry-leading photography, writing, and design later, it’s safe to say that it has worked. I’ve taken plenty of licks along the way and have been endlessly challenged and humbled (as all entrepreneurs are), but it’s very rewarding to look back on a body of work like this. We’ve led the creative pack in our industry and earned the top spot on many bookshelves and coffee tables. If you haven’t already, order one, and you’ll see why.
But producing something of this quality is not easy or cheap. In fact, it’s really fu***ng hard. We rely on the support of folks like you to continue our mission of inspiring folks to get into the field, and I’d be grateful if you’d consider taking the leap.
Subscribers get 15%-20% discounts on back issues and first access to our immersive trips all over the world. Hint hint, we may or may not be giving away a spot for our Scotland trip to subscribers in the coming days, so let’s say the timing is ideal.
There are links to subscribe or purchase single copies in my profile if you want to support us. Cheers friends!

Made it to 40.
Lots of miles and adventures packed into this wild ride to reflect on. For better or worse, I’ve managed to keep it interesting. Maybe I’ll write a book about it someday.
It’s been a really tough year, but some amazing milestones and good things have made all the tribulations worth it. Looking forward to putting 2023 in the ashtray and lighting up a fresh year soon.
A sincere thank you to everybody for the kind words the past few days to Caris and me. We love you all.

Happy birthday to my incredible fiancé . I didn’t know that a perfect match could exist until I met her, and now life just seems to make more sense.
I have never met a more dynamic, talented, enthusiastic and hilarious woman in my life, and she inspires me everyday. From the wilds of Tanzania to the hills of Scotland, the beach to the ballroom, Caris is always up for the adventure, lights up any room she is in, and will damn sure have one hell of an ensemble prepared for the occasion.
Here is to many more laughter-filled years ahead, cheers my dear!

I shot some behind-the-scenes vignettes from Chapter One of our x film series amidst the Laguna Madre on the coast of South Texas. We shadowed protagonist to learn more about what it takes to make a living on the water and the challenges that come with it — including a delicate tension between pursuing success and protecting the resource.
I expanded this story in Volume 11 of , but for now, you can watch the film at the link in my bio. I'd love to know what you think of Ben's story.

We're excited to announce the cover of Volume 11.This intriguing photo by our good friend is from our feature story on Mark McNair, a renowned duck decoy carver. Many say he is the best in the world.
Our team puts a lot of thought into these selections, making sure to add something interesting to our previous 10 covers. We felt that Paul's modern take on such a classic subject was a perfect addition.
Pre-orders are open if you want to reserve a copy, but the best thing to do is subscribe. You get 2 books a year, access to our entire archive, and 20% off back issues. Books will ship in September. Both links are in my bio.
Would really appreciate any kind of support, whether it's ordering, subscribing, or just passing this along to someone you think might like it. This is how I make a living, and how we as independent publishers fight the good fight.
Thanks in advance friends.

Secret Fiancé Safari.
After six months of careful planning, espionage and misdirection, I just pulled off the surprise of a lifetime and proposed to in my favorite place in the world — the wilds of Tanzania.
With the help of my dear friend Lupo, I sourced a rare gemstone native to Tanzania called Tsavorite, and had the ring made in secret before we arrived. I snuck it in my bag on the way into camp, distracted her by saying we were taking marketing photos, and caught her COMPLETELY by surprise as the sun set behind the acacia trees. After cursing at me in shock, she said yes. I’ll share that hilarious video another time, but for now we could not be happier to be engaged and in this beautiful, wild place for the next week.
Thank you to our friends who helped keep the secret, and a massive thank you to Roger & Daisy Hurt for helping me make this so special for Caris. I have dreamed of proposing here since I first stepped foot in Tanzania in 2006, and that dream is now a perfect reality. We’ll share more soon, but for now we’re off to the bush for a classic East African hunting safari.
Today, love wins.

Many favorite photographs I've taken and words I've written are from time spent in Tanzania. There is something grounding, inspiring and challenging about being in a remote bush camp that seems to draw it out, and I'm really looking forward to going back this summer to spend some time with . Definitely missing my safari days.

A girl and her shotgun.I wrote a story about surprising with a 20 gauge beauty from the this past Christmas, the adventures that have ensued, and how it's brought us closer. It's very personal, but I'm think I'm gonna include it in the next issue of .
Regardless, it's pretty clear that my days as top shooter in the house are numbered.
