The fourth 2022 Firefighter Training Support Award was presented to Russ Futrell of 1-800-BoardUp of Central Indiana.
In 2022, 1-800-BoardUp provided free fire science training to all members of the department. On several occasions, they also provided lunch during training events. Having free lunch at these events wasn’t just a convenience. It also limited downtime to make our training events more efficient.
Thanks 1-800-BoardUp!

2022 Firefighter Training Support Award number three was awarded to Steel Dynamics Inc. this morning by members of A Shift.
In addition to other donations 2022, Steel Dynamics contributed $4,000.00 to the Training Division to facilitate the construction of a new firefighter training prop. The prop will support over 24 training tasks which, until now, could not be done otherwise.
Thanks SDI!

Today C shift members presented another 2022 Firefighter Training Support Award to Rich Manello and the staff at Love’s Travel Stop here in Pittsboro.
In 2022, Love’s allowed members from Pittsboro, and our automatic aid partners, to use their interstate sign for valuable practice in the rescue of a victim suspended from fall protection at nearly 70 feet. Opportunities like these are vital to keeping our members experienced and ready.
Thanks Love’s!

The first of five 2022 Firefighter Training Support Awards was presented to Todd Ploughe and the staff at Ploughe's Wrecker Service earlier today.
In 2022, Poughe’s continued to regularly deliver vehicles to Station 111 for use in our vehicle extrication training. They also provided equipment and facilities for several challenging drills.
Thanks Ploughe’s!

Within the past week, first responders across Hendricks County and beyond have endured the agony of searching for loved ones who have wandered from their caregivers. Please take a moment to share our graphic here about Project Lifesaver Hendricks County.
Project Lifesaver facilitates locative technology to help those with a cognitive disorder such as Autism or Dementia who have a tendency to wander from their caregivers. Not everybody who is diagnosed with Autism or Dementia has a tendency to wander, however for those who do, this program can make a difference!
See our graphic below regarding program qualifications. This program is ran by the Washington Township / Avon Fire Department, and we are proud to work along side their team as the designated law enforcement liaison! This program is 100% free for Hendricks County residents who meet the criteria below.
