Catholic Missions In Canada is at the Hamilton Diocesan CWL Convention today.

We are grateful for the longstanding support of the Catholic Women's League of Canada and the many women who continue to support Canadian home missions through prayer and generosity.

Earlier this week, Priests, Deacons, and Sisters from across the Diocese of Prince Albert gathered at Sturgeon Lake First Nation for a Clergy Enculturation Day focused on learning, prayer, fellowship, and relationship-building.

Gatherings like these help foster deeper understanding and strengthen connections between clergy and Indigenous communities throughout the diocese.

Through support from Catholic Missions In Canada, the Indigenous Ministry Circle in the Diocese of Prince Albert continues its important work of reconciliation, clergy formation, and ministry in First Nations communities across northern Saskatchewan.

Earlier this week, we gathered to celebrate the Feast of Saint Philip Neri and to pray for mission communities across Canada during the St. Philip Neri Mass.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in person and through the livestream. Your continued prayers and support help sustain the work of missionaries serving communities across our country.

St. Philip Neri’s example of joyful faith and dedication to others continues to inspire the mission of Catholic Missions In Canada today.

Today, on the Feast of Saint Philip Neri, we give thanks for the joyful witness of a saint who brought hope, compassion, and the Gospel to the people around him.

Known as the “Apostle of Rome,” St. Philip Neri devoted himself to serving those most in need through prayer, friendship, and missionary outreach within his own community. Pope Pius X later named him the patron saint of Catholic Missions In Canada because of that example of home mission work.

Join us today for the livestream of the St. Philip Neri Mass at 12:00 PM (EDT) as we pray for missionaries and mission communities across Canada.

Recently, Bishop Héctor Vila of the Diocese of Whitehorse made a pastoral visit to St. Ann Mission in Watson Lake.

Supported by Catholic Missions In Canada, St. Ann Mission is served by Fr. Leo Win, who ministers not only in Watson Lake, but also in the neighbouring communities of Lower Post, Upper Liard, and Good Hope Lake.

The mission serves a region where many residents are members of the Liard First Nation, and where long travel distances and aging buildings continue to create challenges for ministry. CMIC funding helps support travel, utilities, maintenance, and the day-to-day costs of the mission.
