With over 10+ years of experience, I am a Seattle-based Latine muralist, painter, educator, and illustrator. Angelina Villalobos, pseudonym 179 grew up in Seattle Washington within a mosaic of cultures and ideas. Inspired by Folklore; stories humans have created and collected to explain the unknown, Angelina crosses tales about animals and their wit with current events. Religion is also another way humans manifest what they observe. In combining these elements, Angelina creates a fairy-tale land filtered through the eyes of an anime and comic book lover. VIVA LA RAZA!
I’m bright like the sun today, full of love and support from everyone around me. My momma, my dad, mis abuelos, primos, and relatives are all smiling down on us from the cosmos. NFL Champions, a franchise that was the first to name us for who we truly are (Gente, not just Hispanic), a city that believes in its people, a community that refuses to let harm come to our neighbors. I am proud. Estoy tan orgullosa. Soy tan orgullosa de nosotras.

Happy Birthday South Park Branch! Join the party on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be aztec dancers, Lotería/ Bingo, book give-a-ways, and sweets to celebrate the beautiful work this branch has been doing in the neighborhood. After the recent ICE activity at the Fiestas Patrias parade last week, South Park needs more love, support, and eyes on the look out to keep its residents safe.

Puma Mural for Conord International Elementary School in beautiful South Park. An art collaboration with Víctor Meléndez and the greatest assist in the world by Ego The puma has been gloriously protected by jk_paint_and_finish_llc with a UV+graffiti coat. Literally so many people stepped up to help this mural come to life. I’m truly blessed.

2007 One of my first commissioned murals for Blue Scholars. This one was painted at the basketball courts on Beacon Hill where I used to kick it and loiter with friends in middle school smoking and tagging in the bathrooms. How far we’ve come is a blessing. Happy Friday fam!
