Talk about a throwback - thanks for sharing!
This week, Hartford's Camp Courant hosted a mini-career expo for Junior Leaders. With five different industries present, JLs got to network with business leaders in and around Hartford and learn more about career paths that exist right here in Connecticut. We were thrilled to have:
-Andre Santiago, Vice President & Chief Program Officer of Leadership Greater Hartford (Camp Courant board member)
-Amelinda Vazquez Rossitto, Senior Associate Director of UConn Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills (Camp Courant board member)

A special guest joined us in Early Learning for story time today… Mayor Arunan Arulampalam! Mayor Arunan stopped by Camp Courant this morning to read one of his favorites to our Unit A campers: Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs & Ham! From funny voices to life lessons, and even learning more about his job, it was a morning filled with laughs and smiles with our new friend.

Last week, as part of the campaign leading up to the annual Impact Awards, Camp Courant was featured on FOX61 as an organization making a significant impact on our community. Check out Cayla Cade’s story, featuring some campers and junior leaders!
Camp is closed today, but clearly our campers, junior leaders and staff are making the most of it - Happy 4th of July!

We had so much fun visiting Hartford's Camp Courant to speak to kids about substance use and personal safety. We talked about alcohol, va**ng, and ma*****na, plus how to ask for help. We think it's important to teach kids about these topics early, especially as the world around us changes so quickly. Thank you to our Torrington Counselor Makia Johnson and Senior Counselor Kelly O'Heron for doing such important work.
