South Carolina’s small businesses are the backbone of our communities, and many have been hit hard by the severe drought conditions that began earlier this year.
I’m glad to see the U.S. Small Business Administration stepping up to provide low-interest federal disaster loans to eligible small businesses, agricultural cooperatives, nurseries, and nonprofit organizations that have suffered economic losses as a result of the drought.
This assistance is available in numerous counties across South Carolina, including counties in the Fifth District: Fairfield, Kershaw, Lancaster, Lee, and Sumter.
If your business has been impacted, I encourage you to explore the resources available through the SBA. Applications can be submitted online at sba.gov/disaster. For additional assistance, call (800) 659-2955 or email [email protected].
The deadline to apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans is January 19, 2027. 🚨

🚨Daily Wire just dropped an EXCLUSIVE on my new legislation cracking down on DEI requirements in federal research funding.
Taxpayer dollars should fund scientific excellence, not ideological activism.

Today, I introduced the Merit Restoration Act to stop DEI requirements and ideological tests from influencing taxpayer-funded research grants.
Federal research funding should be awarded based on merit, innovation, and scientific excellence, not political agendas or identity-based QUOTAS.
For years, and particularly under the Biden administration, federal agencies have pushed universities and research institutions to prioritize DEI statements and activist criteria over achievement and results. That’s wrong, and taxpayers are tired of footing the bill for it.
My legislation ensures agencies like the NIH and NSF award grants based on the quality of the research and the benefit to the American people, not ideological checkboxes.

There is no greater pride than being an American.
These South Carolina National Guard members are leaving their families and communities behind to answer the call of duty and help keep our nation's capital safe. Representing the VERY BEST of the USA.
Praying for their safety!! 🇺🇸
