The Poinsettias are looking beautiful in the sunshine today. These festive plants make great hostess gifts, stop by and pick one up today.

We had a great time at our first-ever wreath decorating workshop and we're so impressed with the creativity of everyone who attended.

Brr, it's cold out there today. If the sudden cold weather froze your pots, you still have a few options for creating a fresh evergreen display outdoors.

If your pots are moveable, bring them indoors or in to a heated garage to thaw them.

Thaw your soil with warm water. Be very careful and don't use boiling water. Use a minimal amout of water so that soil doesn't become a mess.

If possible, remove the soil from your pots and drop in one of our pre-made spruce tip pots.

Drill holes in frozen soil to place branches in.

Build ready-to-display spruce tip pot in one of our workshops.

The leaves are changing outside and we're starting to see some changing leaves in the greenhouse too. These leaves are technically called bracts and they are the part of the Poinsettia that changes from green to red, white, pink, or other colors.

The shorter days that make it harder for us to get up in the morning are the signal to Poinsettias that it's time to produce colorful "blooms." They will finish their transformation over the next several weeks and be in full color around Thanksgiving.

It's feeling very fall-like this morning but, here at the greenhouse, we are already thinking spring. The Dipladenia (aka the Cabin Plant) have arrived for next year.

We received just over 60,000 cuttings of red, pink, and white Dipladenia. These cuttings are dipped in rooting hormone and stuck in soil. They will sit on heated tables under misters for several months while they grow roots. Later this winter we will plant them up in hanging baskets and patio pots for you to enjoy. next spring.

It's only September but we have already started growing Poinsettias. These green plants will start changing color as the days get shorter just before Thanksgiving.
