We have received reports that Santa Claus has left the North Pole and is somewhere in Pasadena, Texas. Sources have informed us that he is somewhere with the Pasadena Fire Department and will be driving around the streets of Pasadena, Texas in the afternoon and evening both today and tomorrow (17th & 18th). Around 6:30pm Thursday afternoon, the Pasadena Fire Department received reports of possible flames seen inside a multi-family residential structure. First arriving units arrived on scene with a couch on fire. Fire crews made entry and were able to quickly extinguish the fire with minimal damage to the structure and adjacent units. This incident is currently under investigation by the Pasadena Fire Marshals Office.
Yesterday afternoon, the Pasadena Fire Department received reports of a vehicle fire near Vista and Strawberry. First arriving units advised a vehicle fully involved. Fire crews extinguished the fire with zero reported injuries. This fire is under investigation by the Pasadena Fire Marshalβs Office.

Apply and join the Pasadena Fire Department, the largest volunteer fire department in the United States. β Frequently Asked Questions :β Where and how do I apply? In order to apply for the Pasadena Fire Academy, you would need to fill out an application. You can find more information on the Fire Academy & application at PasadenaTX.gov/Fire. Once you have completed the application, you can either turn in the application in person at the chiefβs office or through the mail (923 Shaw Avenue). What are the requirements to join? In order to join the Pasadena Fire Academy, you must: 1. Be 18 years of age 2.Be a resident of Pasadena, Texas or live within the vicinity 3. Have a valid Texas Drivers License & Good Driving Record What does the application process look like? Once you have submitted your application with the Pasadena Fire Department, your application will be turned over to the Pasadena Fire Marshalls Office for a background check. Once that has been completed, you will then undergo a physical examination and then complete a physical agility test What does the physical agility test consist of? The physical agility test consists of a keiser sled, dragging a charged hose line, carrying of a high rise pack, stair climbing, and dummy drag. Do I need to have any knowledge of firefighting before I start the fire academy? No, there is no requirement of any prior firefighting knowledge. Throughout the academy, you will be taught all there is to know about firefighting. You will go over topics such as haz-mat, hose handling, building construction, fire behavior, and tactics and strategies. How long is the fire academy? The Pasadena Fire Academy is a 13 week academy that meets every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. (Tuesday/Thursday 6pm-10pm & Saturday 8am-5pm) As a volunteer firefighter, do I get paid? Early Wednesday morning, the Pasadena Fire Department received a request for mutual aid from the South Houston Volunteer Fire Department for a single residence fully involved. Fire crews arrived on scene and extinguished the fire with zero reported injuries. The residence was currently under construction and was unoccupied. The cause of this fire is currently under investigation.
