More than a decade ago, Dynia Architects designed and renovated The Source Hotel + Market Hall. Today, we’re grateful to be part of its next chapter!
As the historic Market Hall continues to evolve as a flexible, multi-use destination, we reimagined our initial industrial tenant storefronts with a new glass system inspired by Mondrian’s Composition paintings. A grid of mullions and layered glass types—clear, reeded, and frosted—abstract tenant spaces into geometric forms, creating visual connections throughout the market hall while maintaining varying degrees of privacy when spaces are closed.
It’s a rare opportunity to revisit and evolve one of our own projects, and we’re honored to help shape the future of one of our firm’s most iconic contributions to the RiNo neighborhood! Thanks to our whole team, especially the talented fabrication experts at for bringing this project to life!

On the boards - Sagebrush Residence
Rooted in the landscape of the Tetons, this residence is quite and meaningful. Two overlapping volumes and rooflines rotate on axis toward the Grand, framing moments of light, sky, and landscape throughout the home.
Designed to feel quietly embedded within its surroundings, the house opens toward panoramic views while native sagebrush, wildflowers, and natural stone allow the architecture to recede into the vast Wyoming landscapes.

AIA Wyoming Award of Merit ✨
Originally built in 1891, the Western Hotel stands as Colorado’s oldest continually operating hotel—rooted in history at the foot of the San Juan Mountains, the “Switzerland of America.”
Reimagined with care, this project honors its Old West legacy while shaping a renewed identity for hospitality on the Western Slope. Surrounded by dramatic landscapes and a rich mining past, the restored hotel bridges heritage and contemporary experience. Officially reopened in 2023, it joins a growing portfolio of thoughtful historic renovations by Dynia.

AIA Wyoming Award of Citation - Bar Y
In the Residential category, Dynia Architects received an Award of Citation for the Bar Y Residence at the AIA Wyoming 2026 Design & Honor Awards.
Located in Teton County, this 5,000 SF residence is carefully embedded into a steep slope facing the Teton Range—minimizing impact on the land while maximizing the visual connection to its surroundings.
Through a thoughtful integration of site + program, form + space, and material + landscape, the project creates a seamless dialogue between interior living and the natural environment—where architecture quietly belongs to its context.

A house shaped by how they live—two studios for art + music, lifted on either side, each framing its own view of the mountains, pond, and ranch beyond.
A quiet, linear form set parallel to the Tetons, where a full glass wall dissolves the boundary between inside and landscape.

Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program Session 1: Articulating Vision
At Dynia Architects, we believe strong design begins with strong communication. DA's Shannon Newberry, alongside fellow candidate Katharine Schmachtenberger, put together a panel of leaders to share insight on how architects articulate their visions, build trust, and lead with clarity. A key takeaway: architecture is a service grounded in listening, empathy, and authenticity. Thoughtful communication allows us to not only respond to clients, but to guide them, creating space for meaningful, impactful design. DenverArchitecture
