Sure, trees are great for making oxygen and all, but we like to think their second-best purpose is letting us turn them into show-stopping furniture, millwork, and doors. 🌳✨
Case in point: this beauty we just wrapped up for . It’s a solid walnut door rocking a mid-century fluted glass panel, polished brass hardware, and—after a lot of measuring—an absolutely perfect fit in the existing jamb. (Trust us, that’s harder than it sounds.)
Big props to for leading the charge on this one and a huge thanks to for always giving us fun projects to tackle. And, of course, a nod to the trees—you’re the real MVPs.

Work continued this week at . Our Special Projects Team put some finishing touches on this walnut sideboard. It measures 10 feet long, 30 inches deep and eight feet tall. Every bit of it is custom and we love the stone that the client chose. Indirect dimmable LED light throughout the room continues above and below the furniture. Blum soft-close hardware is used throughout including on two hidden doors used for electronics storage. These storage areas are also vented thanks to the hardwood slatted curves. The floor-to-ceiling mirrors open the space, but the intimacy of this private dining room is kept intact- if not improved.
We also took the existing staircase down to raw concrete, removing decades of laminated flooring that had been covered in previous renovations. We then installed our 1-1/8” thick solid walnut treads. This walnut is beautifully figured with some really exaggerated curly features that we saved for the top step.
All-in-all, this has been a satisfying project to produce and we look forward to continuing work with the team at Cafe Central.
