We would like to personally thank Pixleys Shurfine and Bergman Landscaping for all there help this weekend. Both single handily kept the fire company going this storm. Bergman landscaping continously helped pulling and plowing out the fire apparatus when we became stuck. Pixleys Shurfine opened the store many time so we and the Newstead warming shelter could get food and items to keep the stranded motorists warm and as comfortable as possible. This community will do everything it can to help each other out. So thankful to call Akron home..
Special Thank you to our firefighters and families for the help this weekend. When we weren't conducting rescues, putting out a car fire or handling service calls, we were cooking and caring for over 100 stranded motorists and families. It was very taxing but we endured. Merry Christmas!!!!!
Merry Christmas to everyone!!! Just remember holidays celebration can be rescheduled, it is not worth trying to travel. Crews have spent the last 2 days rescuing stranded motorists. A holiday celebration is not worth anyones life. ONE MISSED HOLIDAY IS NOT WORTH MISSING A LIFETIME OF HOLIDAYS!!! Be safe..

Santa made a stop before getting back on schedule.
Good evening everyone,
Our warming center is at full capacity for our fire station. We are doing the best we can to provide adequate service to the people we currently have. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please adhere to the travel ban and blizzard warnings. Please stay safe.

We are on standby at the hall for the weather. Please do not go out if you don't have to. Please we will get to as soon and as safe as possible.
Good morning everyone,

If you have ever had the unfortunate circumstance of having an emergency for you or your family member, there is a good chance that Officer Nati was there lending a hand. He and his family now need our help.

Tonight the Akron Fire Company trained on car fires, hose line deployment, and utilizing different techniques on opening hoods and trucks.
