Make Way Ministries

Last Wednesday, I had the privilege of speaking at on online English speaking service from Igreja Batista das Nações (Baptist Church for the Nations). I shared a message about the value of the human soul and encouraged the church to reflect on how important human souls are to the Lord. I left them with some practical points about praying for the harvest, giving towards missions and being willing to go wherever God sends them to bring the Gospel. We had time for questions afterwards, and people were grateful for the message. It was a great time together and we appreciate everyone who prayed for this service.

We have several events this week that we want to cover in prayer. Also, we received an incredible testimony this week. A young man who our snack cart team met on the streets of Dayton was water baptized this Sunday! The team was able to get him into treatment for drug addiction and connect him with housing. He gave his life to Christ in the process and wanted to publicly testify to what Jesus had done through the baptism. God is so good!

Here are upcoming events these next few days to cover in prayer. Thanks in advance for praying:

1.) I'll be speaking at Pure Life Brazil on Thursday morning. Please pray that the men will receive what they need from the Lord.

2.) We are taking an outreach team to the streets of Celiandia to minister to the homeless on Thursday night. Please pray for anointing and protection.

3.) Saturday morning, we will have our first Board meeting for our ministry here. This is a big step, so please pray for God's favor and wisdom.

4.) Saturday afternoon, Brittany will minister at a women's meeting for Familias Benditas. Pray that God will speak through her to the women there.

5.) Saturday night, I'll be preaching for a conference at Dokimos Church in Gama. Pray that God will touch lives, especially the young people who will be there.

As you can see, we have a busy week. Thanks to all who are continually interceding for us. God is on the move!

We want to celebrate the great service we had last Sunday with the wonderful congregation of Famílias Benditas Comunidade Cristã in Vicente Pires. It was Communion Sunday, so I shared a message about the significance of the Blood of Jesus and what it accomplishes for us, translated by our friend, Danilo. During worship, I felt that there was a young person who needed to commit their life to Christ. When I gave an altar call for salvation, several young people raised their hands signifying they wanted to give their life to Jesus. Glory to God! Afterwards, we took communion together and thanked the Lord for His sacrifice. It was a beautiful service and we are thankful for all who prayed for it!

We had the opportunity to provide a snack cart for evangelism for a church plant in northern Ohio. It's a joy to partner with like-minded ministries with a heart to bless their communities in the name of Jesus.

Please keep a service tomorrow night (Wednesday) in prayer. I'll be ministering online to an English-speaking group from a local Baptist network. I'll be sharing about the value of a soul. Please pray that all who will join us will be ministered to by the Word, that the technology and internet will work smoothly and that God will be glorified by all that is said and done. Thanks in advance for praying!

We had a great trip to the city of Uberlandia last week. I spoke to a group of ministers from a variety of denominations about the topic of creating an evangelistic culture in our churches. Several thanked me for the message because it resonated with their hearts. Our ministry is in contact with some of the pastors to help create resources, like our Romans Road cards, for their ministries.

There were three people there that made the trip very special. Three years ago, I spoke at the same meeting and a young minister confessed to po*******hy addiction. He shared with his pastor and his wife. Since then, he has gone through the Pure Life Brazil program and is now walking in freedom. He came to the meeting with his wife and six month old baby. He said, "Our child is a miracle. He wouldn't be here today if God had not brought me into repentance since the last meeting."

Another young man I immediately recognized because I had prayed with him a couple of years ago on the campus at Pure Life Brazil. He was very broken then, and I remember him weeping and crying out to the Lord. Today, he is serving in ministry at a Christian university in Uberlandia and is marrying a Christian woman this September!

A third young man I had not met before, but he had been through Pure Life Brazil a year ago. He shared his story with me and how the Portuguese version of Pile of Masks had been a huge breakthrough for him during that season. He wanted to thank me for the impact I had made on his life.

I was overwhelmed as we traveled back to Brasilia. God is doing exceedingly more than we could think. I was so grateful to get to see so much fruit from our ministry efforts in Brazil. What a joy it is to serve the Lord! Thanks to all who prayed for the trip. God is so good!

Please pray for the service tomorrow night. I'll be ministering at Familias Benditas in Vicente Pires. My message will be about the Blood of Jesus and we will have communion together. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will anoint the message and translation and that we will all get a fresh sight of Jesus. Thanks in advance for praying!

We had a powerful service on Sunday at ICCR (Igreja Cristã de Confissão Reformada) in Taguatinga.

Afterwards, I shared a message from the story of King Josiah. He was a righteous king who made a conscious decision to serve God with all his heart and soul. I shared several principles from his life about how we can live a similar life.

After I preached, Abigail and Claire were invited to sing a song. They chose "Nada Além do Sangue" (a Brazilian worship song "Nothing But the Blood"). The presence of God was tangible as we sought the Lord together. It was a blessed morning. Thanks to all who prayed for the service. God is faithful!

We had a fantastic outreach with a team from Familias Benditas last Saturday. We went to a local park with free waters, bananas and Gospel literature and sent teams around to share the Gospel. We had the opportunity to pray for many people, as well as share testimonies and the hope of Christ. We distributed Romans Road cards and we saw people reading the literature after they encountered our teams.

One man didn't seem very open to talking to the group that he met. However, once the group walked away, he motioned to a man in our church and asked him to come speak with him. He then poured out his heart and shared about his distance from God. They spoke for a long time about faith in Christ. One family had their six-year old son with them. They were thrilled when he prayed for some other kids his age in the park for the first time. What an impact something like that can have on the next generation!

We are so grateful for all that the Lord accomplished. We closed in a beautiful time of prayer and worship in the park. Thanks to all who prayed for the outreach. Please pray that the seeds that were sown will take root in the hearts of those we encountered. God is so good!
