So the abrupt announcement I need to make is that I have sold the bakery to a long time customer who intends to keep the spirit of the bakery thriving and bring his own passion to its development. More info will be forthcoming as he is ready.
Please know this was a heartbreaking decision that I’ve been waffling back and forth on since we slowed things down in March. I’ve had enough time and space to admit what owning the bakery has cost my family, my physical health, and mental health. Without this virus giving me time and space to think, I probably would have kept stubbornly pushing through for far too long because I do love baking for this community, I love seeing your faces, and I adore the seasonal creative menu the staff has collaborated on! I also know that I can’t go back to the heavy workload that this community both deserves and demands.
Thank you endlessly for your support and enthusiasm as I’ve grown into this role the past 4 years. As far as what’s next for me, I have no plan other than to get through this year of elearning with my kids and try to take better care of myself. I love you all unspeakably.
Hi all, I didn't open up any bread for preorders this week, but I'll have plenty of breads and sweets available for tomorrow night. Here's the plan: Oatmeal, Tyrolean Multigrain, Cheesy Sandwich Loaf, Baguettes, Sourdough Flaxseed Rye, Croissants, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Zucchini Walnut Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting, Brownies, Honey Cashew Granola.
I am going to keep the bakery shut this next week as my family adjusts to elearning. May all you parents and educators and everyone involved with our school systems find some sort of calm and rhythm and peace in the decisions you had to make as school starts. There is no right choice except the one you made.

Umm, getting this lamination in this heat is what I’m proudest of today. There are pecan down unders today! Peanut butter cookies, black currant jam bars, brownies, Belgian breakfast bread, and lavender mint shortbreads! Plenty of bread on the shelf (not preordered) available too

With the bakery having limited hours this summer, I have time and energy to get back to canning! Really grateful for an active farmers market, good relationships with the vendors there, and my grandma’s canning equipment.
