The biggest mistake in Executive Protection isn’t always a security mistake. Sometimes… it’s a professionalism mistake.

Recently, we were contacted by a studio looking to replace a close protection agent.

The reason?

The agent became too comfortable. Professional boundaries blurred, objectivity disappeared, and the role shifted from protector to friend.

In Executive Protection, that can erode trust faster than any operational mistake.

Unfortunately, many agencies advertise Executive Protection simply because they can. A suit, sunglasses, and a website don’t create a professional protector.

The person behind the suit does.

Before hiring an Executive Protection provider, ask:

✔️ Where were your agents trained?
✔️ Are those training providers internationally recognized?
✔️ Can you review the agent’s professional bio and experience?
✔️ Does the company specialize in Executive Protection, or is it just another service they offer?

At Sentinel Elite Protection Group, we believe Executive Protection is built on professionalism, discretion, judgment, and continuous training, not appearance.

Your safety deserves more than a suit.

If you’re evaluating Executive Protection services, we’re always happy to answer your questions.

It's been a while since we've posted. Like many organizations focused on growth and delivering results, we've been busy doing what matters most: serving our clients and investing in our people.

One of the greatest challenges in the security and protection industry isn't finding contracts, it's finding the right people.

Anyone can fill a position. Building a team of professionals who consistently represent your organization at the highest level is something entirely different.

At Sentinel Security Plus., we spend countless hours recruiting, interviewing, training, mentoring, and developing our personnel. We don't always get it right on the first try, but we remain relentless in our pursuit of excellence because our clients deserve nothing less.

Every day, Fortune 500 companies, corporate event organizers, property management firms, healthcare facilities, and executive clients place their trust in us. That trust is earned through the quality of the people standing on the front lines representing our organization.

The reality is simple: if you want to make a difference, you must be willing to do something different.

That's why we continue to raise the standard, challenge the status quo, and invest in building a team that reflects the professionalism, integrity, and service excellence our clients expect.

This photo represents just a small portion of the incredible protectors who make Sentinel Security what it is today. We are proud of each and every one of them.

To our team: thank you for your commitment, your professionalism, and your dedication to protecting others.

And to those looking to join an organization that values growth, accountability, training, and excellence, we are always looking for exceptional people.

If you believe you have what it takes to operate at a higher standard, we'd love to hear from you.

🇨🇦 INAUGURAL CLASS 2026 🇨🇦

What an incredible milestone.

A huge thank you to the Executive Protection Institute for traveling from New York to Canada for the first-ever 2-day Executive Protection course and helping us launch our Inaugural Class of 2026.

We had an amazing group of professionals from all walks of life law enforcement, government, healthcare, and private sector with attendees traveling in from Detroit and Montreal to be part of something special.

Every individual walked away with not just valuable, real-world skills… but a globally recognized certification from one of the most respected executive protection schools in the world.

This is just the beginning.
Canada is leveling up

We’re excited for what’s next. including a 7-day Executive Protection program coming later this year.

Big appreciation to Jerry Heying, Eric Lauzon, and Tony Alfonso for delivering an unforgettable experience.

Let’s keep building.

One decision can define your entire career.

A recent incident out of Winnipeg highlights what can happen when control is lost in a security situation. What began as a suspected shoplifting intervention escalated into an incident now being investigated as assault involving a prohibited weapon, with potential criminal charges, civil liability, and long-term reputational damage.

This wasn’t just a bad moment. It was a breakdown in judgment, training, and emotional control.

In security, composure is not optional. The expectation is clear: once a situation is under control, the use of force must stop. Anything beyond that is no longer protection, it becomes liability.

There are a few important takeaways from this:

Control must always come before aggression.
Training must override instinct.
Professionalism must outweigh ego.

When those principles are not followed, the consequences extend far beyond a single incident.

For companies and clients, this raises an equally important question. If your security provider cannot clearly demonstrate structured use-of-force training, de-escalation protocols, and documented, court-defensible standards, you are not just hiring a service, you are assuming risk.

For those working in the field, the reality is even more direct. One incident like this can impact your career, your future opportunities, your financial stability, and in some cases, your freedom.

This is why we continue to emphasize the importance of training, accountability, and mindset across the industry.

Real protection is not about appearance. It is about discipline, control, and making the right decision under pressure.

Stay aware. Stay trained. Stay in control. hashtag

"Security Undertrained? The 40-Hour Licensing Question"

This week on The Sentinel Mindset, we’re diving into a hot-button issue: Is 40 hours of training enough to handle the real-life crises security guards face?

We break down how minimal licencing requirements—like the standard 40-hour course—might leave guards underprepared, especially when facing mental health crises or violent situations.

We’ll peel back the layers from a business angle, too—how margins often sideline advanced training and what that means for the industry.

Tune in as we ask tough questions and explore what needs to change.
