The Art of Minerals: what do you get when Sandstone, Quartz and Feldspar come together with Iron, Copper, Manganese and Limonite? Look at these stunning “paintings” created by Nature’s hand. We took these photos at Pictured Rocks in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on our recent visit. I simply had to share this beauty with all of you! Iron delivers the red and orange, Copper gives us the blues and greens, Manganese offers brown and black and Limonite is responsible for the white. The summer solstice is one of my favorite days of the year! I thought I would share some info with you for those of you who don’t know much about it. Make sure you join Crystal Ascension to see some solstice and crystal recommendations for each zodiac sign during this magical start to summer!

Derived from the Latin words “Sol” and “Systere,” meaning “Sun standing still,” the summer solstice is a monumental event in the wheel of our year. This year, it falls on June 21st in the Northern Hemisphere, marking the official onset of summer. It's a time of heightened spiritual journeying, and I'd love to share with you some of the wonderful spiritual and astrological significance of this event.

When the Sun reaches its highest point in the sky, we're reminded of Terry Pratchett's words, “Light thinks it travels faster than anything, but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first and is waiting for it.” Light and darkness, two necessary counter-forces, are at play during the solstice, helping us reach harmony.💫

This is also the time when the Sun enters Cancer, a water sign associated with nurturing, emotions, and intuition. Along with this, a harmonious alignment known as a Grand Water Trine forms between Neptune in Pisces, Jupiter in Scorpio, and the moon in Cancer, fostering heightened intuition, emotional healing, and spiritual growth. Uranus in Ta**us encourages us to break free from stagnant patterns and align our values with our authentic selves.
