Sadly all good things must come to an end. We had an incredible time on our Adventures by Disney Peru trip. Machu Picchu was amazing as were all of the sites we toured but what stood out most were the opportunities our Adventure Guides gave us to connect with the people of Peru. It wasn’t just learning about Peruvian art, textiles, music, food and drinks but also how those came to be as a result of their Incan history. The opportunities to give back to the people of Peru meant more to us than we could have every imagined. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and we owe it all to Adventures by Disney and how they created not just a vacation but a profound experience that we will never forget.

On Day 7, our last full day with Adventures by Disney Peru, we explored Sacsayhuaman. We enjoyed a privately guided tour through the the imposing Inca site where 200-ton stones were moved miles with no modern machinery. Afterwards we walked down the historic street “Calle Siete Borreguitos” and into town for an Andean Music Experience. We had the opportunity to play Andean drums and quenas (Andean flutes) along with other unique instruments such as the zampona (pan flute).
After an afternoon of exploring Cusco, we had a farewell dinner where we shared our memories and said goodbye to our new friends.

On our Adventures by Disney Peru trip we took a scenic train journey to Aquas Calientes and boarded a coach to Machu Picchu—“the lost city of the Incas” and one of the Seven New Wonders of the World. We spent the afternoon with a local expert exploring the fascinating ruins and stunning views.

Adventures by Disney Peru day 4 included a visit to the Moray ruins to learn about its unique circular terraces and the history of agriculture in the region. Did know that potatoes were originally poisonous?
This was followed by a visit to the Salt mines of Maras where local families have been mining salt for over 500 years.
After we worked up an appetite, we enjoyed a nice lunch while watching a Peruvian equestrian show.

Yesterday we took a tour of Ollantaytambo Town & Ruins. We explored the ruins of the royal estate, citadel and temple of the Incan Emperor Pachacuti—who conquered the region, razed the original town and built a new one using magnificent masonry, extensive terracing and irrigation systems. Walking the Inca trail was a once in a lifetime experience.

Disney Cruise Line Health and Safety Protocol Update:

🚢 Beginning October 14, for Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish and beginning November 7, 2022 for Disney Magic, Disney Cruise Line will no longer require guests to be fully vaccinated at time of sailing.

🚢 Fully vaccinated guests ages 5 and up are still required to upload proof of vaccination but will not be required to provide a negative Covid-19 test.

🚢 Unvaccinated guests ages 5 and up will be required to upload proof of a negative Covid-19 test 1-2 days prior to sailing.
