CHRISTMAS IN JULY🎄

If you’re new around here (hello and welcome!), I debuted a Nutcracker Collection in 2022, and brought it back in 2023 with a few new colorways, that was inspired by the Nutcracker production I danced in growing up. It is based on various roles and costumes, and the beautiful sets. It really brings back all the memories and I hope it feels nostalgic for you too🩰

Originally my show colorway for DFW Fiber Fest last year, it was so popular that I decided to bring it back!

This is the last weekend to shop the Pastel Delight Collection pre-order!🍬

I wanted to highlight a couple more bases today - Smooth Sock (L in pic 1, pic 2) and Silk Sock (R in pic 1, pic 3)!

Smooth Sock is such a unique blend of 40% silk, 30% Merino, and 30% yak, and I love it for a ton of different reasons. With the higher silk content, it’s the closest thing to a typical “warm weather base” I carry at the moment! This base is so soft, but in a squishy, silky, smooth type of way - not necessarily super fuzzy soft. It feels great next to skin, the drape is out of this world, and it has a beautiful sheen. Some colors dye up a bit darker on it (typically colors with purple in them), which I also love! This base also comes in a DK weight (Smooth DK) which is just as heavenly and takes the dye the same way. Both Smooth Sock and DK are available to pre-order, or I have some trial skeins on Smooth Sock in the shop right now (in-stock) that are 15% off through Sunday.✨

Silk Sock is such a versatile base with 85% Merino and 15% silk. It’s my natural alternative to Merino/nylon bases, with the silk providing that extra durability. It’s perfect for socks, but really any other project as well. This base also comes in mini skeins, so you can add some contrast colors to your project! It’s extremely soft and it has a 2-ply twist making the texture so beautiful. This has been one of the most popular bases in the pre-order so far which I’m so happy about! I think y’all are going to love it.🥰

The Pastel Delight Collection pre-order is still going strong!🍭

I wanted to highlight the alpaca bases today. You might not typically think of them as warm weather fibers, but did you know that alpaca is also temperature regulating and moisture wicking (even better so than Merino)?👀

Alpaca naturally has hollow fibers, which act as great insulation. This allows the fibers to trap more air, leading to better temperature regulation. While Merino is also temperature regulating, the fibers lack this unique structure.

While both are water resistant, alpaca fibers can only absorb about 10-11% of their weight in water whereas Merino fibers can absorb up to 30%. This means that the alpaca fibers will absorb and release moisture more quickly, while also remaining more insulting.

Just thought that was a fun and interesting bit of info, but back to the bases! First up we have Cozy DK (but it’s also available on sock weight (Cozy Sock) and they’ll dye up the same way). This is a delicious blend of alpaca, silk, and cashmere. If you’ve felt this in person, you KNOW how soft it is. It also has an amazing drape and a lovely sheen!🤩

Next we have Plush Sport. This is an amazing combo of alpaca and 17.5 micron Merino. If you’re looking for some of that structure that comes with Merino but you still want the luxuriously soft feel of alpaca… This is the base for you!😍

Finally, our beloved Suri Lace. It’s a blend of Suri alpaca and silk and it’s so soft and fuzzy. On it’s own, it creates a wonderfully airy fabric that is fantastic for warm weather makes!🥰

INDECISION SAMPLER SHAWL KITS🧶

I had the absolute pleasure of collaborating with Jen of .loops on her latest design - the Indecision Sampler Shawl!

It’s a Tunisian crochet shawl that explores 7 different stitch patterns throughout the shawl so you end up with a deliciously textured shawl and some new skills! What’s also super fun about the pattern is that you can decide what order to put your stitch sections in, so you can really make it your own!

I’m so excited to be offering yarn kits that will also go live tomorrow, May 17th at 7pm CT. Here are all the details on the kits:

- There are two pattern versions: a sock weight version and a DK weight version. You’ll need 3 skeins for the sock weight version and 4 skeins for the DK weight version.

- The kit listing will allow you to select the number of skeins you need on any base of your choosing and you can even select different colors for each skein if you’d like!

- Buy either pattern (or both!) from Jen’s Ravelry, Payhip, or Etsy shop first and then you’ll find a discount code in the pattern for the yarn kits.

- Most past collection colorways and Pastel Delight colorways are available for the kits. Pictures of previous colorways can be seen in the Colorway Gallery on my website.

- Kits will be available even after the Pastel Delight pre-order closes! While the pre-order is open, kits will have the same turnaround time as the pre-order. Once the pre-order closes, the regular turnaround time for dyed to order kits is 4-5 weeks.

Now it’s time for all the semi-solids on all the bases, and these are the photos that will be used in the listings! So when looking for the most color accuracy, I’d recommend looking at these photos (same goes for the post yesterday).

I’m extremely proud of these variegates and I’m so excited to show them across the bases and their swatches! I’m completely obsessed with all of them🥹 Please remember that swatches only give you an idea of how the colorway works up but it could be different depending on the yarn base and project! All swatches shown (knit, crochet, Tunisian crochet) use my Extra Pure DK base.

MINIS!🌈

Y’all LOOK AT THEM🤩 The Pastel Delight collection will also be available on 20g mini skeins on both my Extra Pure Sock and Silk Sock bases! There will be a separate listing for minis where you can select the Full Set (11 minis), the Semi-Solid Set (8 minis), or pick individual minis a la carte!

This is also a perfect way to create your own sock sets! Just choose your full skein from the individual colorway listings, then choose your mini(s) from the mini listing. My Silk Sock base is perfect for socks (and many other things!) to give you that added durability with the silk content.

SOUR CANDY🍭

Last but certainly not least, Sour Candy is a fun variegate that combines all the colors together! It was inspired by the rainbow of colors you see in candy jars. I cannot WAIT to show you the swatches!!🤩

MARSHMALLOW FLUFF🤍

Marshmallow Fluff is a semi-solid cool white, ever so slightly grey (more so on Smooth Sock). It was inspired by sophisticated ceramic white serving platters, but I thought it also matched the softness and squishiness of marshmallows! I’ve been asked a few times for a cool neutral as opposed to my usual warm neutrals, so I hope y’all love this one as much as I do!

LAVENDER EARL GREY🪻

Lavender Earl Grey is a semi-solid light lavender purple. It was inspired by the lovely subtle scent and taste you get with any lavender infused drink or dessert!

BLUE RASPBERRY🫐

Blue Raspberry is a semi-solid pale blue with purple undertones. Blue raspberry used to be one of my favorite candy flavors as a kid (behind orange, obviously) and I especially loved it in ICEEs. While this colorway isn’t as bright and vibrant as your typical blue raspberry candy, it still reminds me of its cool and sweet flavor!

SALTWATER TAFFY🍬

Saltwater Taffy is a watercolor-like blend of blush pink, pale green, and light blues and purples. Inspired by all the fun and bright colors that saltwater taffy can come in, this colorway blends them together to create a sea of delicious taffy.

ALOE VERA🌱

Aloe Vera is a semi-solid bright yet mellow honeydew green that’s perfect for Spring/Summer! It’s a surprisingly versatile color, just like the many uses of aloe vera.

CANDIED LEMON🍋

Candied Lemon is a semi-solid pale canary yellow. Not quite as bright as a typical lemon (or my Lemon colorway), but inspired by the color of lemon candies after they’ve been muted with a dusting of sugar.

PEACH FUZZ🍑

Peach Fuzz is a semi-solid true peach color! It was inspired by the Pantone Color of the Year but it fit seamlessly into the collection with its resemblance to peach-flavored candies😋 I’ve got a few peachy colorways out there now, but this one is definitely the softest and most delicate of them all!

STARBURST SKY🌅

Starburst Sky is the first variegate to join the collection! This colorway is a beautiful blend of blush pink, coral, peach, and pale yellow.

I was going for sunrise/sunset vibes with this colorway, but also realized that each color in it looked like Starburst candies (being a dessert/candy collection after all), so Starburst Sky was born!
