School starts Monday, so we spent a little time this morning getting our own little students ready for the new year ahead!
1️⃣ removed all clothing from the closet that: is too small, he doesn’t like to wear, is too redundant of other closet items
2️⃣ removed tags, washed, dried and hung new items purchased for the new school year. I personally don’t hang items up with tags. If we purchase it, we commit to using it. We may have to try it on again at home, but we hang all items “ready to wear.” And we always wash before wearing. Ew.
3️⃣ for kids, I like to separate clothes by sleeve length: short sleeve + long sleeve
4️⃣ we prefer to hang clothes in rainbow order! SOOO pretty, and it makes it easier to see, find, put away or know how much you have of an item. Feeling like a short sleeve yellow shirt? BOOM! You can find it in no time!
What do you think?!

📚 ✏️ It’s that time again! Our very own Lead Organizer Sarah is slightly obsessed with school supplies…and her label maker…and obviously her adorable little baby children! Sooo, she spent some time getting them all set up for the school year! You can do this, too! All you need for this level of awesome is a label maker (or permanent marker), some patience and some good tunes! 🎶 You killed it, as always, Sarah!!! 😍

A closet can be so much more than just a place to shove your clothes. To me, it’s a room that can be beautiful, functional, and maybe even your favorite place in the house! This closet went from drab, to absolutely flipping fab!!! I used an custom closet from (obviously!), wallpaper, paint in the shade , and the mirror from . Bins are my favorite Y weaves from and of course that organizing is all !!! Favorite. Project. Ever!!!

👻 is coming soon, but this cabinet is no longer so scary! First, 🗑 trash items that are old, broken, unused and unloved. Next, 🖇📚group like items together. Then, home them in fantastic bins. 😍Finally, add a label! See the scary before in the comments! 😱

Time to level up this 8 year old’s book and toy organization, PLUS change decor to a more feel. I’m absolutely thrilled with the way it turned out! Bins are our beloved Y Weave from , lamp is from Target, and prints are too!
What do you think?! Did we nail it?!

🖤 I’m COMPLETELY in LOVE with this pantry we organized today!!!
1 busy family’s pantry + the perfect combo of bins & baskets + Holly Homemaker = THIS SHOWSTOPPER!!!!
I was thrilled to take on this pantry transformation!!! The before and after photo speaks for itself! We went with black and natural colored containers. Her only request: they needed to be able to be cleaned out easily! ☑️
I hope you all love it as much as we do!

Upper corner cabinets can be TRICKY! There is so much hidden space on the sides and rear, and they are tough to keep tidy!
1. Don’t overstuff your corner cabinet! Put the items you use regularly in the door opening, and tuck less frequently used items back off to the sides where you cannot see them.
2. Decant items into fabulous bins like these. It reduces visual clutter by 100% and gosh sakes it’s pretty to look at!
3. Just have Holly Homemaker come over and take care of it for you!

I shared this in my private ACADEMY group, and my sweet friend Victoria Perniciaro Moon requested I make it public, so here you go. Just a glimpse of my brain dumps to that private audience. Not in my ACADEMY group? I’ll post a link to it below in the comments.

“Hard truth time.
I go in so many homes, and the theme is consistent: the mom is OVERWHELMED. DONE. FRIED. She’s embarrassed to have me over. She apologizes profusely for the state of her home.
A large majority of these women can’t get through the first half hour of meeting me without choking back tears or just letting it flow. I give a lot of hugs. A lot.
You don’t have to live that way.
There are no “magic pills” in life, but there are some things that will dramatically help your situation.
You have too much stuff. TOO MUCH. It takes me 2 seconds to look and do a visual assessment of a space. Your counter is overflowing because your cabinets are stuffed with 27 plastic cups from the fair and weddings you attended a decade ago. For some reason, you own thirty 12” dinner plates, but only 5 people live in your home; and you also have a 16” tall stack of paper plates from Sam’s because you don’t use the real plates anyway. And that’s just one corner of the kitchen.
The sense of panic, overwhelm and drowning in your home can be solved with one (and subsequently two) actions:
1. Get rid of a LARGE percentage of items under your roof.
2. Stop bringing/allowing so much crap through your door.
Yes, you’re going to have to talk to grandma. No, she won’t like it.
Do you know how many people I talk to that dread their child’s upcoming birthday because of the amount of gifts a few family members will impart on them? Your child’s birthday is a joyous occasion, not a dreaded event.
People always ask me, “What would you do in here?” The answer is the same. Buy a ginormous box of trash bags, and get busy. Some people like measurements on things, so I’ll throw a percentage out…50%, 70%, 80%.
I can “Pinterest Perfect” your closet/pantry/cabinet all day long, but the clutter has got to go.
I’ve been on both sides of the mess, and I’ve tried a lot of things. Simplifying is the only way to getting you past the point of daily breakdowns. This is what I do. I know it inside and out.
Now, go buy a box of trash bags. 😘”

Pile or pretty?
This storage space got a taste of our magic wand recently, and I have to say…finding things will be approximately 3,000 times easier now!
