University Laboratory School was proudly represented yesterday at the joint Regents/BESE meeting.

During his presentation, Dr. Mitchell highlighted an exciting collaboration between the LSU College of Education and University Lab School. Through the leadership of Dr. Heroman and Mrs. Blanchard, our Head of Educational Technology & Innovation, College of Education faculty and teacher candidates worked alongside ULS students to explore the emerging world of Artificial Intelligence.

This partnership provides students with unique, hands-on learning experiences while helping future educators develop innovative instructional practices. We are proud to be at the forefront of preparing both students and teachers for a future shaped by technology and innovation.

This collaboration also highlights the laboratory school's role in disseminating innovative practices beyond its campus. By sharing this work with the BESE Board, Board of Regents, University Lab School demonstrated how laboratory schools serve as incubators for educational innovation, providing scalable models that can inform teaching and learning across Louisiana.

β˜€οΈ Summer at the U brings opportunities like no other! β˜€οΈ

This week, our campers enjoyed some truly unique experiences that made learning come alive both on and off campus.

🧱 LEGO Camp took inspiration from one of LSU's most iconic landmarks! Campers visited the clock tower, sketched its architectural features, and then put their engineering and creativity skills to work by recreating it with LEGO bricks.

🌱 Garden Camp explored the Horticulture Hill Farm Teaching Facility, where campers harvested fresh vegetables and learned firsthand about gardening, agriculture, and where our food comes from.

🎣 Hooked on Fishin' Camp spent time at the newly restored LSU Lakes, learning fishing skills while experiencing one of Baton Rouge's most treasured outdoor spaces.

🧘 Cubs Go Wild welcomed former UHS parent Ms. Vic, who led yoga sessions focused on movement, mindfulness, stretching, and relaxation.

From mindfulness and creativity to engineering, agriculture, and outdoor exploration, our campers are discovering, exploring, and making memories every day at Summer at the U! πŸ’›πŸ–€
