I genuinely believe Mary was brought to me through divine intervention.

Back in January, I had begun interviewing for additional support during tax season. One candidate stood out immediately—Mary. She was smart, grounded, and felt like the perfect fit. But at the time, there were still a lot of unknowns in our staffing plan, and I ultimately decided to postpone the hire. We agreed to reconnect in May or June.

Then, life—as it does—shifted quickly, and we found ourselves needing support far sooner than expected. Just one week later, Mary stepped in and never missed a beat.

She brought a solid foundation of skills and incredible work ethic during the most intense part of our year, and we could not have crossed the finish line without her. Sometimes the right people show up at exactly the right time—and for us, Mary has been just that. I am excited to see where her future here leads.

Meet Mary Wood! Mary brings over a decade of small business ownership experience and four years of accounting industry expertise to Parks Tax & Consulting PLLC. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at Tyler and a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma Christian University. Mary is currently pursuing her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license to further enhance her professional credentials. She is also a 2021 graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, reflecting her strong commitment to entrepreneurship and financial education.

Originally from East Texas, Mary and her husband, along with their three dogs, relocated to the Houston area in 2023. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys watching Longhorn football and New York Yankees baseball, spending time with family, and designing jewelry.
