Looking back to this job in 2023, there is something just so organic and natural about a freeform pool, especially when surrounded by nature such as this Blue Mind build in New Caney's Northcrest neighborhood. These homeowners are truly the nicest people and we thoroughly enjoyed working with them to create some serious staycation vibes in a space perfect for kids and grandkids!

Once again winter is blessing us with some less than ideal weather. Here are a few steps to make sure your home and equipment stays safe. After all, manufacturer warranties don't cover freeze damages.
If your pool does not have a freeze protect, just be sure to run your equipment while the temperatures are below freezing. Don't forget to turn on those water features operated by valves.
If you lose power. Don't panic. Get a coat maybe a flashlight and go shut off the breakers to the equipment. (Most damage is done when the power comes back on, pumps kick back on and pipes are frozen.) Remove the pump lids and pull those freeze plugs, open the pool filter air relief and the filter drain plug, don't forget the freeze plugs on the chlorinator and the heater.
Lastly, don't forget to get those autofill lines. Shut off the inlet and the outlet on the backflow preventer then turn the bleeder screws to drain the unit and leave them open. I also like to wrap the backflow preventer with a towel or two then cover with a trash bag. Go over to the float valve by the pool, and push it down so the water in that line goes back to the pool.
