Omicron subvariant BA.2.12.1 is now the leading variant in the US closely followed by omicron subvariants BA.4 and BA.5 which are said to be more transmissible and more likely to be the cause of breakthrough infections regardless of previous infection or vaccination/booster.

For Week Ending 5/28 in LA County, there were 132,830 new infections reported, a 3.34% increase from the previous week. The new strain of the omicron subvariant is more virulent and contagious than its predecessors. Nationally, cases are FIVE times higher than this time last year. All of this and some productions are working without a mask requirement. We will not work on those productions. The link for LA numbers is in the comments.
