Part 4 - Soft Contemporary

This is contemporary design with more curves, texture, and warmth. Instead of cold metals and ultra-sleek surfaces, you’ll see curved sofas, statement lighting, plaster-look finishes, soft upholstery, and sculptural furniture. It feels modern but not harsh.

Part 3 - Heritage or Collected Style

Homes are moving away from “everything brand new” and toward spaces with history and personality. This style includes antiques, vintage rugs, meaningful art, heirloom pieces, layered patterns, and classic architectural details. Houzz notes that 2026 design is leaning into rich materials, heritage-inspired details, warmth, and longevity.

Part 2- Maximalism

After years of minimal, neutral spaces, maximalism is showing up through bold color, layered textures, patterned wallpaper, unique art, and statement pieces. It is less about clutter and more about personality, storytelling, and expressive design. Architectural Digest’s 2026 forecast highlights a shift toward self-expression, tactile craftsmanship, and more layered interiors.

Americana is coming back in a more refined way. Think handcrafted pieces, vintage textiles, painted wood, classic patterns, traditional rugs, and nostalgic details mixed with modern furniture. It feels cozy, personal, and rooted without looking overly themed.
