Embrace ~ House. Home. Life.
Comments
I just received an inquiry for a Feng Shui consultation by a person who is having a problem with their neighbor. While I don’t know the details it is clear that the conflict has become aggressive. I sensed frustration and anger and despair. They asked me about a Feng Shui cure.
I explained that intention is the power behind every Feng Shui adjustment and regardless of the disagreement, the desired outcome is peace.
I felt them soften.
Our homes are our havens and we want to be comfortable coming to and from without worrying about a vengeful prank from a neighbor next door. I suggested they get quiet and look deeply at how they might be contributing to the conflict.
More softening.
With peace as the intention I offered one more suggestion then invited them to call me back if they wanted a consultation. Often the shift we seek in our environments begins with us.

Greet the day and all you meet with Loving Kindness. A sincere act of kindness can improve someone's day and your own Karma. Feels good all around!

She hears the deepest prayers of your heart, with love, compassion, encouragement, and support.

There's a difference between doing acts of kindness for no reason expecting nothing in return and doing good deeds with an agenda. I knew someone who was very kind to others but with a hook so people would think and profess he was a good person. It was a bit of a show notwithstanding the good deeds he did for others. Be spontaneous and generous with your acts of kindness, humbly and discreetly expecting nothing in return.

2022 Ki Forecast
I love reviewing New Year forecasts mid-year to see how things are panning out. This year 2022, according to the 9StarKi, we all returned to the house of our birth. Michael Becherer provides an excellent synopsis of each house. I can vouch for his analysis based on my own first number of the 9StarKi and my experience thus far. If you need to know your First House number of the 9StarKi, type in your birth date or PM me and I will let you know. https://vimeo.com/668697873/db88fcfdc2?fbclid=IwAR2R75IELU8ysw4De69TSPuZs6Y361RJxCGUO6TvyMRAaX7ZB-RHZSm9KCUFor

Good question.

Lovely yet from a Feng Shui perspective there is a big OUCH! in this design. Can you spot what it is?

The formula for good Feng Shui is to live with what you love, your aesthetic while following Feng Shui principles. I personally love a farm-style kitchen. A window over the sink with natural light flowing in is a must for me. The breakfast table at the window brings in vibrant chi to start your day. The clean white counters and cabinetry complemented with dark wood floors and pops of color keep this kitchen from being too stark. A beautiful fusion of old and new.

Oh, how I love strolling the streets of SF for this.

If you've been around long enough, design trends recycle whether it be home decor, corporate design, or fashion. This photo is an example for me. The color of the walls I had in a former home, the ceiling beams we added in the 90s, dark wood floors, the crystal chandelier I've seen in many a New England home. What you put in your home is the same. Does it bring up fond memories? The chairs pictured here remind me of cafeteria, corporate chairs. From my personal recollection, they were uncomfortable and difficult to work in. For someone else, these may be the coolest retro midcentury gotta haves. Regardless of the trend pay attention to your own personal likes and what resonates with your own psyche. Only put things in your home that you love. You'll know it when you feel it.

Peach Blossom Magic✨
After a very peachy chat with a lovely new bride (and groom) today, I had to post these 🧡

Happy Lunar New Year of the Water Tiger! 🐅 Wishing you, your family and relations a year of health, happiness and abundant blessings. May the 2022 Year of the Tiger be an auspicious year for you! 🎊🌟🧧

oo oo, I always love to see a green kitchen, for an example of what to do if your kitchen lands in the center of your house. Paint it green! It may be a matter of personal taste, but I think this one is really pretty.

I admit I have never read such exaggerated claims of the benefits of Himalayan salt lamps. Karen Kingston sets it straight. They do make for a pretty night light!
Don’t waste your money on a salt lamp.
Some salt lamps can look quite beautiful as an ornament. But if you are thinking of buying one because you’ve heard it may give you some health benefits, forget it.

With deep honoring and loving gratitude to Thich Nhat Hahn. Beloved Thay🙏
Thay is in the breath, in the earth we touch in walking meditation, in the beauty and wondrous nature that surrounds us, in the sunshine, the blue sky and white clouds. A cloud never dies.
A cloud never dies

“When conditions are sufficient, a cloud transforms into rain, snow, or hail. The cloud has never been born and it will never die. This insight of signlessness and interbeing helps us recognize that all lives continue in different forms. Nothing is created, nothing is destroyed, everything is in transformation."

Why do you walk around the Stupas clockwise?
“In the Buddhist tradition, clockwise circumambulation is a sign of respect; a number of sutras describe disciples doing three clockwise circumambulations of the Buddha, and prostrating before him to request teachings. (The word clockwise is an adaptation of an earlier term translated from Sanskrit as ‘sunwise’.) It is the way the universe turns.
Reflecting on how pervasive this archetypal idea of the auspiciousness of turning clockwise is, it is interesting to note how in modern technology, we generally design objects so that locks, k***s, and faucets turn clockwise to let us in or turn things up or on. So, through the simple gesture of turning a prayer wheel clockwise or circumambulating a holy object, one is evoking a very ancient and pervasive level of symbolism related to paying homage, to doing what is right, and to following a true enlightening path.”

Just spotted this great lamp on westelm.com. A great enhancement for the Fame area adding the Fire element. The cone shape base and the light represent fire. Plus the green color representing the Wood element feeds the fire in 5 Element Theory. Add intention and you have one powerful enhancement. Beautiful!

I see quality design wallpaper as a work of art. Ceilings and floor design all make a statement. Ahh, and that bench! Your home should express who you are. Love the space you live. That's the foundation of good Feng Shui.

"home...the shelter around the intimacy of a life"
WHERE LOVE HAS LIVED
A home is not simply a building; it is the shelter around the intimacy of a life. Coming in from the outside world and its rasp of force and usage, you relax and allow yourself to be who you are. The inner walls of a home are threaded with the textures of one's soul, a subtle weave of presences. If you could see your home through the lens of the soul, you would be surprised at the beauty concealed in the memory your home holds. When you enter some homes, you sense how the memories have seeped to the surface, infusing the aura of the place and deepening the tone of its presence. Where love has lived, a house still holds the warmth. Even the poorest home feels like a nest if love and tenderness dwell there.
