Zahnee and Hayden’s wedding at The Lodge at Camp Red Cedar had so many beautiful details that just made us so happy – from those bold, beautiful bouquets to the canine companion (who almost stole the show!) and the biggest, brightest smiles on everyone in attendance ♥️ It was our honor to play some small part in the Fitches’ big day!

Sometimes we have to look through our camera roll to be reminded of some of the beautiful arrangements we’ve been lucky enough to work on for our incredible clients! Each week, we’re busy in the flower studio, creating full-on art installments for local weddings; rustling up bouquets and boutonnières for proms and graduations; and simply creating stunning arrangements to brighten up homes and offices.

Whatever the occasion, we would love to work with you to figure out the perfect flowers – we can cater with specific color palettes or favorite flowers, within your budget and to almost any time frame. Drop us a message or email [email protected] to chat all things flowers!

We planted a whopping 1,200 – no, that’s not a typo – dahlia tubers in the flower fields this past weekend, and that wasn’t even all of them! Which means we’ll have leftover tubers at the Ruby Moon farm stand this weekend (undivided clumps, 3-5 tubers per clump, will be $10 and five divided tubers are $20!), open Friday and Saturday 9am to 7pm, cash or Venmo only!

As for the tuber planting, you could be forgiven for thinking we’re planting a bit late – but as it happens, it’s absolutely NOT too late to plant your tubers! We like to wait a little bit longer to plant ours, ever since the year we planted ours in our still-wet fields and ended up losing every single tuber to rot. Consider that a (harsh) lesson learned.

You could absolutely pick up a stash of tubers this weekend, plant them in the following few days and be in plenty of time for an abundance of beautiful blooms come late summer and fall.

As for the how-to, we like to plant our tubers in an area that gets full sun. Dig a hole six inches deep and lay your tuber on its side, eye up, and cover loosely with soil. Then we wait for the first sprouts, and only then do we start to water! Once your dahlias hit six to eight inches in height (or have three sets of leaves), it’s time to pinch, cutting off the centre stalk down to the next set of leaves, in order to encourage your plant to grow out, rather than just up.

If you forget to pinch, or just don’t want to – it can be hard to take a clippers to your newly growing babies, we know! – that’s okay too, but your plants might need a little extra support in the form of stakes or netting, especially if they’re planted in an exposed area that gets a lot of wind.

Once they start to bloom, the key is to cut, cut, cut – the more blooms you cut, the more blooms you’ll get; if you leave the blooms on the plant, it’ll start to focus on developing seed, rather than growing more flowers. But cut your flowers to display in your home and your dahlia plant will keep producing, right up to the first frost!

The calendar is open for July, August and September to book a private picking party at Ruby Moon! This is such a fun idea for an office get-together, bachelorette party or bible study. We can set up the fire pit and slushie machine – or tell us your own ideas! – and you get the run of the flower field to pick your own bunches of beautiful blooms.

Email us [email protected] or DM us on Instagram to talk details 🌸♥️🐝

Not sure we’ll ever recover from Zoe and John’s beautiful summer backyard wedding, which took place at John’s family home. ♥️

We created a floral arch tucked into the climbing roses around the front doors, taking the opportunity to incorporate the garden in the overall design.

The flowers were bright, colorful, and full of personality – just like Zoe. We used zinnias, dahlias, and other cheerful summer garden blooms in vibrant shades throughout.

We had two beautiful weekends at our 2026 Spring Plant Sale, and the highlight – as always – is getting to talk all things plants with our friends and customers, new and old! This year we got to meet so many new people, and we’re so excited to see how your gardens bloom this year!

As always, if you have any questions at all about your garden, please, don’t hesitate to drop us a comment or a message here or by email at [email protected]. We’d love to help!

And if you missed the Plant Sale, don’t worry! We’ve stocked our self-serve farm stand with whatever leftovers we’re not planting on the farm ourselves, and it’ll be open this weekend, Friday and Saturday from 9am to 7pm. We’ll have flower bunches, a load of tomato and pepper plants, some flowering annual seedlings, dahlia tubers (including our mystery bundles, which include 5 tubers for just $20) and beautiful heirloom rose bushes. You can pay by cash or Venmo 📍 7535 E 400 S, LaOtto

P.S. If you need a bouquet or arrangement, don’t hesitate to get in touch! We can make anything you need available to pick up at the farm stand this weekend ☺️
