A Healthy Body Is A Healthy Mind.

Fitness is an outlet for me and a requirement on many different levels.

Every morning I must get some type of exercise in.

Not only does exercising and being fit benefit you physically but also mentally and spiritually.

Our recent guest on The DMV Business Show, Adam Levin CEO of Information Experts mentions how having a fitness routine is tremendously important for him as well.

I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to attend the Goldman Sachs 2022 Impact Summit in DC on July 18 - 20th, 2022. I had an amazing time and met so many interesting people. It was an opportunity for me to meet and learn from other entrepreneurs and business leaders. I learned that my network is my source of strength. It is extremely important to continue to grow a network of people who are willing to help you succeed in your endeavors.

It is also critical to have relentless VISION. Establish a clear goal and vision for the future, which will allow you to know when you are on the right path or if you need to make changes to get where you want to be.

Here are 15 Key Lessons I learned at the Summit:

1. Your network is your source of strength.

2. Pursue relentless VISION.

3. Pivot. Innovate.

4. Move forward by looking into the future.

5. Bet on yourself to make your business successful.

6. The harder you work, the luckier you get.

7. Be In it to win it.

8. Express gratitude constantly. Say ‘Thank You’ to all clients, friends, and family.

9. Pursue PASSION.

10. Expand beyond your “Comfort Zone”.

11. Have the mindset to overcome constant challenges. Expect “Whack a Mole”. Once you solve your current challenge, a new one will pop up.

12. Always view challenges from the client’s perspective. Focus on customer service.

13. Focus on contributing versus trying to impress.

Just about a year ago, we shared Google.com/All-In, a toolkit for brands and agencies to help them build out more intentionally inclusive marketing campaigns. We’re excited to announce that we’ve updated the All In toolkit and it now includes a brand-new playbook focused on accessible marketing. We hope that sharing the following core principles from the playbook will inspire you to visit All In to improve your own marketing inclusivity goals.

Nothing about us without us

Disabled people are their own experts, which is why it’s so important to bring in their voices from the start. For many companies, this may also involve leaning on an informed third party for guidance. At Google, we sought out partnerships with several experts in disability inclusion, including those from LaVant Consulting and Disability:IN. Partnerships like these allow you to engage directly with the disabled community and expand the ideas that fuel your work.

Account for intersectionality

For marketing to feel truly inclusive and accessible, brands must think about people with disabilities holistically, and consider the full spectrum of markers that comprise identity. The disabled community includes people of all genders, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, ages, and more — and those identities are of equal importance to how they choose to identify. Failing to recognize and reflect intersectionality in your messaging runs the risk of reducing disabled people’s multidimensional identities into oversimplified stories that can perpetuate stereotypes.

Accessibility is a mindset, not a box to check

Best practices for disability inclusion and accessibility marketing change over time, whether that’s due to technological evolution or cultural shifts. It’s an ever-evolving journey that depends heavily on the needs of people with disabilities. Like other forms of inclusion, accessibility should be a constant commitment that’s embedded into every aspect of your brand campaigns — from conception to ex*****on, and beyond.
