Executive Director, Travis Gladhill and Development Director, Tami Urias, were honored to be a part of the United Way of Smith County agency presentations, sharing the heart behind what we do, supporting Veterans and their families right here in East Texas and the real world impact. We are thankful for every opportunity to connect our mission with the community that makes it possible..

On June 9, 2026, the Smith County Commissioners Court recognized female Veterans with a Resolution declaring June 12, "Celebrating Women Veterans Day" in Smith County.
Tomorrow evening, June 12, we will be hosting a Women Veterans Day Social from 5:30 - 7:00pm at the Women's Center at CampV. It is a casual evening with light snacks and a little sangria to celebrate and fellowship with our women Veterans.

A huge thank you to John for leading our Volunteer Orientation this week!

Volunteers are the heart of what we do at CampV, and we are grateful for those who choose to invest their time and talents in serving our Veteran community. Thank you to everyone who attended and took the first step toward making a difference.

We're excited to see the impact this new group of volunteers will have as we continue our mission of serving Veterans and their families across East Texas.

We are thankful for our community partners every day. Today, we would like to say thank you to Mr. Gary Flory from the Flory Tree Farm. Not only did he help us find the perfect tree, he personally delivered it AND helped plant it alongside Ron Urias, husband of Development Director Tami Urias, in just the right spot. Mr. Gary and Mr. Ron, thank you for going above and beyond. We are grateful.

We are grateful for opportunities to spread our mission to others. CampV was invited to host a table in the Patriots Outpost at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth during the Charles Schwab Challenge. Mark Shaw, Community Engagement Manager and John Beaulieu, Veteran Services Manager, were both on site to talk about CampV with Veterans, active-duty service members, and their families.

They kicked off the week at the Patriots Luncheon with keynote speaker Army Retired Sgt. Matthew Spang, a double amputee, recipient of two Purple Hearts, passionate athlete, and avid golfer with a 7 handicap at the Legends Lounge at TCU. The rest of the week was spent at the Patriots Outpost on the grounds at the Colonial Country Club, where Mark and John were able to spread the mission of CampV to those in attendance.

We are incredibly grateful to the event organizers for the invitation to be a part of this event and thankful to our staff for being there.

Wow... what an evening. We had such a great time hosting the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce After Hours last night. It was a great evening of networking and integrating our Veteran community with our business community. Because of this event, we were able to welcome new Veterans to our campus!

Thanks to R&K Distributors, Inc. and GG Distributing LLC for providing 🧊ice cold beverages. Rose City BBQ & Catering for the delicious food! Tyler Tents & Events for providing our shade. To our wonderful parking volunteers from the VFW Post 1799 Canteen and our CampV volunteers, THANK YOU for helping make this event a success.

To our Program and Events Manager, Bailey, thank you for all the hard work that goes into each of these events. We appreciate you!
