I just saw a thread comparing a brand-new Four Winds Class A to a vintage Monaco, and the comments were a predictable war zone.

"They don't build them like they used to!"
"New RVs are just plastic junk!"
Look, I love a classic rig, but we need to talk about Survivorship Bias.

The reason that 20-year-old Monaco is still on the road isn't just because it was "built better"—it’s because it’s the survivor of its generation.

We aren't seeing the thousands of other units from that same year that fell apart, got totaled, or were scrapped. Chronology and maintenance are the real secret sauce, not just nostalgia.

In 20 years, people will look back at the rigs we are buying today and say the exact same thing. We’ll still be debating:

⚡️ New fuel sources vs. old school diesel.
🎨 Styling shifts that we "hate" now but will love later.
⛺️ Those never-ending 10-15 year campground age restrictions.

The industry evolves, technology gets better, and the cycle continues. Change is the only constant in the RV world.

I just watched someone walk out of the public showers completely barefoot. My physics/pharmacy brain is doing some serious calculations right now... 🧠🧪

Are we trusting the "cleanliness" of those public shower floors, or did she just decide that her shower shoes were somehow nastier than the floor itself?

Either way, I’m over here wondering about the microbial load she’s picking up on the trek back to the site. 🦠👣

The "delivered" notification hit my phone, but my porch was looking suspiciously empty. 📦

🚫 After a quick neighborhood stakeout, I found my Freightliner wheel hub cover sitting on the wrong porch down the street.

Instead of becoming a porch pirate, I snapped a pic and headed straight to the post office to demand a proper redelivery. 📮
