A little rescue update 💛

Scarlett, our calico kitten, is doing really well. She is still healing, but she’s in great spirits and has turned out to be such a sweet, affectionate little girl.

We’ve already received several adoption inquiries for her, which we really appreciate. For now, we’re giving her time to fully recover. Once she is officially ready for adoption, we’ll make an announcement here on Facebook so everyone interested has a chance to submit an application.

We also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated toward Scarlett’s care. Her medical bill is completely covered, and we have additional funds available for her follow-up care as she continues healing.

Several people also sent food and litter from our wish list, so we are stocked back up there too. That is such a huge help and we really appreciate it.

We’ve been a little quieter and slower to respond on social media the last few days. We are unfortunately still receiving threatening messages from people confusing us with another organization, and dealing with that has been exhausting. We’re still here taking care of the cats, we just may be a little less active online while things settle down.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us through a very strange few days. It truly means a lot. 💛

Sunday evening with Louie 🧡

Louie is 5.5 months old and somehow manages to look this cute while also being very busy supervising absolutely everything.

He’s playful, curious, social, and still has plenty of kitten energy, but he’s also a sweet little guy who loves being around his people.

Louie is ready to find his forever home and spend his Sunday evenings somewhere he can call his own.

WHAT A WEEK FOR ADOPTIONS 🥹🎉

Waffle, Muffin, Skia, Fireball, AND Snowflake all found their forever homes this week! 🏡🐾

Five sweet babies, five happy endings, and five fewer little faces waiting for their people. We could definitely get used to weeks like this. 😂

This was so much worse than we originally thought.

When we first got the message about this little calico, we knew she had been attacked by a pack of dogs and had a couple of puncture wounds.

Once we got her to City Vet and they were able to really look her over, it became very clear that this was not just a couple of punctures.

She had lacerations all over her body.

She had to be taken back into surgery, and our vet ended up placing around five or six different sets of sutures just to put this tiny girl back together.

She also has significant bruising around her pelvis and one of her legs, and right now she is having a really hard time walking. Thankfully, they were able to confirm that it is bruising and not something more serious, so it should improve with time, rest, and pain control.

But this poor baby has had an absolutely horrific day.

She was attacked by multiple dogs, badly injured, rushed into rescue, and then straight into surgery.

I am so incredibly grateful to the team at City Veterinary Hospital for getting her in with basically no notice and immediately doing everything she needed. And I am so thankful someone was there to fight those dogs off and get her to safety.

I really don’t want to think about what would have happened if they hadn’t gotten to her when they did.

Tonight she is stitched up, bruised, sore, and completely exhausted.

But she is alive.

She is safe.

And she is going to be okay.

Her emergency bill today came to $374. I know we have asked for a lot of help lately, so truly, no pressure at all. But if anyone wants to help us cover some of her care, we would be incredibly grateful.

For now, this little girl just gets to rest and heal. 🤍

🚨 WE ARE ALMOST OUT OF FOOD & LITTER 🚨

We’re nearly out of adult cat dry food, completely out of adult cat wet food, and running really low on litter. The boys are big Friskies fans, and they have been putting in WORK on our supplies. 😅

Thankfully, the kittens are covered. It’s the bigger kids currently eating us out of house and home.

So if you found our page because the names sound similar and decided to unload your political outrage in our comments, you are yelling at the wrong rescue.

Unrelated political comments will be deleted and the accounts posting them will be blocked.

Please take five seconds to make sure you are angry at the correct organization before embarrassing yourself in the comment section of a completely unrelated cat rescue.

Happy Hump Day from Destiny 🐾

You all gave this sweet girl so much love on her last post, and we are so grateful for every share and comment. Somehow, though, Destiny is still waiting on that special application.

She has been with us for over two years now, and she really is such a wonderful cat. Destiny is sweet, cuddly, affectionate, and loves settling into a lap once she feels comfortable. She can be a little shy at first, but give her a little time and her soft, loving personality comes right out.

She also does great with other cats, and her adoption fee is sponsored.

We know the right home is out there for her. Maybe this is the week Destiny finally gets her happy ending. ❤️
