We want to say a giant thank you to everyone who helped make the inaugural Red Dirt Roots Festival such an amazing event. An estimated 800+ folks were in attendance! So many people to say thank you to. The volunteers who gave their time, efforts, and knowledge to help pull it off…the City of Stillwater, the Stillwater Community Foundation, and the Stillwater Community Center Foundation were all instrumental. And a GIANT THANK YOU to our SPONSORS!!! We couldn’t have made this happen without all of you! There has been a lot of interest in continuing what we’ve started here, stay tuned for future announcements. Long live the Red Dirt Music Scene!!!

New music festival doubles as Red Dirt Rangers album release show The Red Dirt Roots Festival, scheduled Friday, Sept. 11 at Block 34 in Stillwater, will feature performances from the Red Dirt Rangers, Mike McClure Band and the Smokin' Oaks.

Day after tomorrow, Friday Sept.11, the Red Dirt Roots Festival kicks into high gear. This FREE SHOW takes place at the beautiful Block 34 park in downtown Stillwater starting at 6 pm. We will celebrate the Red Dirt music scene…it’s glorious past, it’s amazing present, and it’s golden future. After the event in the park, the Velvet Fudge will offer a free, all ages concert starting at 10:30 pm. It’s gonna be a fantastic time!!

After playing a cool private event on Saturday, we head for beautiful Eureka Springs AR on Sunday for the 79th Annual Original Ozark Mountain Folk Festival. Our set is at 1:30 pm. What a great line up!

Red Dirt Rangers have carried the Red Dirt music tradition since 1988, emerging from a communal Stillwater home called “The Farm,” where members Ben Han, John Cooper, and Brad Piccolo developed their sound alongside artists like Bob Childers and Jimmy LaFave. Blending Americana, rock, and folk influences inspired by Woody Guthrie and Bob Wills, they helped define the genre while mentoring younger acts. After overcoming a near-fatal 2004 helicopter crash, they continued performing, recording, and giving back through the Red Dirt Relief Fund, earning induction into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2017 and remaining a staple live band today.

Friday, Sept.11, this event happens. Celebrating the past, present, and future of the Red Dirt Music scene. Music starts at 6 pm and rocks until 10:00pm. The after party carries on at the Velvet Fudge, 916 S Lewis, 2 blocks east of Block 34, with Dylan Moss and the Middle Class and Maddox Ross starting at 10:15.

We’re excited to announce the Red Dirt Roots Festival will be the first release show for our new record “Red Dirt Town”. We’ll have plenty of LP’s and CD’s available for sale that night. You can also order online on the link in comments. We’re going to honor the past, present, and future of the musical movement that started in Stillwater OK and has traveled around the world!
