Only you can prevent ads from Progressive Insurance, The Home Depot, & Zip Recruiter from running on BlackLight Radio!
Our success means we have to pay more. Without your donations, we'll have to run national ads from businesses like Lowes, Babbel, & Granger.
We need $140/month to keep BlackLight Radio ad free. That may sound like a lot, but more than 4,000 people listened to BlackLight Radio in the last 30 days... that's only 3.5 cents per month from each listener!
More realistically, if 140 listeners donated $1, we'd be able to stay ad-free.
70 could donate $2.
28 listeners could donate $5.
14 listeners might donate $10.
6 listeners donating $25 would cover us,
or 3 listeners donating $50/month.
What's in it for you? Besides ad free listening, you'll be able to hear us on the Audacy mobile app & website, we'll be able to stream in even higher sound quality, & we'll build BlackLight Radio Android & iPhone apps for you to download for no additional charge.
Don't give if you can't afford it, but if you have the money & like what we do, considering being one of the 140, or the 70, or 14, or 6, or 3. THANK YOU!!! ❤️
Otherwise, starting in June we'll be spending 4 minutes an hour telling you about McDonald's, Optima Tax Relief, & T-Mobile... and NOBODY wants that (except the advertisers).

All right, I got somethin' to say:

Memories of Summer...

I'm not really a Joni Mitchell fan. I am a huge Thomas Dolby fan. I'm now discovering this, Mitchell's "worst" album, co-produced by Thomas Dolby... and I really like what I'm hearing! Based on what I'm hearing, these songs probably didn't connect because they had Joni Mitchell's name on them. It's interesting to hear how difficult the production was, and even more interesting to hear Thomas Dolby's fingerprints on every track.
The 1980s musician Joni Mitchell could never agree with Despite Joni Mitchell having some of the greatest songs of the 20th century to her name, some tunes didn't have the right people behind them.
Nobody has more sax than a BlackLight Radio listener.

I got some "exciting" news tonight. It's honestly good news, but it could impact your listening experience.
BlackLight Radio is having so many people tune in and listen for so long that we're about to outgrow our current package... which would mean an extra $100 a month (and I'm still looking for an advertiser to help offset what I'm already paying out of my pocket).
I am NOT asking you to listen less! Heaven forbid.
However, if you've been listening for 12 hours and the stream stops, don't panic. Just click "play" again, and you can listen for another 12 hours.
The reason for this change is so that those who start the stream and then leave it running while they're not listening will have the stream shut off and save us the listening hours (and money).
Thanks for your patience and understanding... and keep rocking the 80s!!!
