Ozone Alert!

A program to voluntarily reduce emissions on days vulnerable to high ground-level ozone.

Looks like it’s not gonna be May after all. 🌧️

With the recent rain and cloud cover, ozone is less likely to form —meaning a lower chance of Ozone Alerts to close out the month.

This summer, we’re entering our wellness era 💅☀️

And low-key? Ozone Alerts are actually looking out for you. They let you know when ground-level ozone hits levels that can make it harder to breathe — especially for people with asthma or other breathing issues.

Quick science slay: the ozone layer way up in the atmosphere = iconic, protective, queen behavior.
But ozone closer to the ground? Yeah… not exactly the vibe 😬

When emissions from cars, trucks, and lawn equipment mix in the summer heat, ozone builds up where we actually breathe. And our lungs are not fans.

We hope you won't need it often, but those umbrella hats look like they will sure help out on a hot and sunny bad ozone day. Thank you to the Drillers for helping us launch into the summer ozone season!

Your Wednesday afternoon deserves baseball ⚾️

It was great to see you all at the ballpark. Thank you for supporting the Ozone Alert program for all these years! We could not have made it to year 36 without you. That was an awesome first pitch Michael Willis!!!

April showers bring May... Ozone Alerts?

As Oklahoma temperatures warm up and humidity rolls in, our air quality starts to shift. Now's the time to get in the habit of checking the air quality forecast alongside the weather, so you're never caught off guard when ozone levels spike.

We have the perfect excuse to put off mowing the lawn: Ozone Alert days! Gas-powered equipment actually contributes to the same ground-level ozone that makes it harder to breathe outdoors on these days. So, it's actually great for your lungs to put up the lawnmower on days when we issue an Ozone Alert.

Know when to mow (or not) by signing up for Ozone Alerts at the link below. 👇
