Hi Everyone! We'll be playing this weekend for a private function at The Sunflower Community in Marana, AZ. We'll see you soon at a public venue which is TBA.

Hi everyone and thanks to everyone who came to see us this past Saturday night at the beautiful Monterey Court. For our first public show we had a great crowd and saw so many old friends. We’ll keep you posted on our next event.

MEET THE J & R BAND MEMBERS
Hi everyone, the guys in the J & R Band are busy rehearsing and getting ready to hit the gig circuit soon. We'd like to introduce you to the members and tell you about ourselves and our long history with the Tucson music scene. Let's rock!!

RANDY COCHRAN, Bass guitar/Vocals: Randy was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma where many of the greatest musicians have lived and worked. Those musicians include Leon Russell, David Gates, and JJ Cale. After serving in the US Navy, Randy returned to Tulsa, where he formed a band known as Big Sky. They were together 8 years, signed on with Leon Russell’s Shelter Records and recorded constantly. Randy has been teaching music as a band and orchestra teacher in Arizona since 2001 and is currently in his last year teaching in the Amphi school district. Randy has played with several Tucson bands such as The Leann McCabe Band, Billy Shears Band, Still Cruisin’, The Retro Rockets and most recently The R.A.W. Band.

JAY QUIROS, Lead guitar/Vocals: Jay Quiros is a native-born Arizonan from Phoenix and has played throughout the western United States including Alaska and as far away as Japan with Tucson bands such as R.J. Lavern, Cheap Trix, Freestyle, The Next, Second Nature, Chance Romance and Tutt & Co. Always in demand as a guitarist, Jay has played with The Billy Shears Band, Still Cruisin', Raven, Roadhouse, Hip Shot, Smokin' Toads, Cornerstone and The R. A. W. Band.

JIM WALN, Drums/Vocals: Jim was born in Ohio and moved to Tucson with his family as a young man. Playing drums and singing since he was 13 years old, Jim has played and sung with several Tucson bands including The Heard, The Flipsiders, is a founding member of the HEARTBEAT Classic Rock Band (2008-2018, 2021-2024) and now with The J & R Band.

ROB FRANCIS, Keyboards/Guitar: Rob is originally from Yuma, Arizona and, after moving to Tucson, graduated from the University of Arizona School of Music. Now retired, Rob was an elementary school music teacher for 30+ years in the Sunnyside School District. Rob has played with several well known Tucson bands including Straight Shot, Tutt & Co., Bob Meighan Band and Heartbeat.
