Awesome grind and polish we just completed.
Take a peak at this awesome grind and polish. Our guys killed it with this slab. This floor was covered in leveler and required a ton of patchwork. Miles of edging and tedious patching. The crew turned out this gorgeous floor. Some of the most consistent salt and pepper exposure we have ever seen out of a slab. Massive shoutout to whose liquids made this possible.

Let’s take a second to talk about porcelain and ceramic tiles. They should be bullet proof compared to natural stone and easy to clean. And normally they are. Unfortunately a lot of the newer porcelains have a micro texture finish that is porous. This invisible micro texture traps dirt like crazy and is almost impossible to extract. These floors are challenging to clean and work with. You can throw all sorts of cleaners, pads and brushes at the tile and nothing will touch it. We have to order in specialized pads made for this type of tile just to get it clean. Fortunately the pads work wonderfully and the floor cleans up great once you have the process figured out. This floor was trashed. We deep cleaned the tile and grout and then color sealed the grout to give a more seamless look.

Client purchased a really cool mid century home in the Catalina foothills. Unfortunately It was filled with old carpeting and ugly tile. Polished concrete for the win! After the coverings were removed we got to work grinding the existing slab. This project was taxing. A lot of heavy repair and patchwork was required. This look is not for everyone. You will still see stuff like repairs and the old tile grid pattern. The tradeoff though is a extremely durable floor with zero grout lines like you would have with tile. It polished up fantastic!
This massive hole was filled with just gray concrete patch. During the remodel it was uncovered and unfortunately would not be hidden by cabinets. We skimmed it with an overlay compound to get a smooth surface. Then our color wizard got to work. What a impeccable faux finish job 👨🎨
Existing terrazzo was in overall decent shape but certain areas had a lot of damage and wear. We did some heavy diamond grinding work on these floors to help fix those issues and it really paid off. Two rooms had just concrete covered in carpeting that was removed. We did a heavy grind down to aggregate and then polished to help tie into the terrazzo better.

Split Face Limestone. Split face limestone is a really cool rustic option for the right home. It tends to wear better then flag/sandstone and normally cleans up easier. This floor needed a lot of TLC though after over twenty years of use. We deep cleaned and lightly honed it. We then saturated the stone with a special penetrating sealer to protect it for many more years to come.
Concrete overlay process.

Believe it or not these floors use to have old allergen filled carpet 😬. The rest of the house had an existing concrete overlay that was done 15 years ago. The goal was to remove the carpet and match these two rooms to the existing overlay in the rest of the house. We did a killer job 🤌
Really awesome floor we just completed in a ADU for one of our favorite builders. This floor was finished with a densifier from . This chemical reactive process helps tighten up and harden the slab making it more durable. We then sealed it with a penetrating wax. The advantage of this method compared to other sealers and coatings is there’s not a topical film or coating to scratch or entrap dirt. We find that with proper care these floors wear incredibly well over decades of use.
