We are a local non-profit organization, est. 1994, Traverse Area Community Sailing's mission is to p Individualized instruction for 1-4 people.
Our Programs:
YOUTH SAILING - For children 8-17, the Learn to Sail is taught by US Sailing certified instructors in 8' Optimist prams, Open Bic's, Lasers and C420's. Each student is placed in a boat and program appropriate to their size and experience. ADULT LEARN TO SAIL - For the young of heart, our adult program is taught in the Lasers on Boardman lake. PRIVATE LESSONS: We offer private lesson

Our HS/MS sailors gathered at War-Zone for a pre-season night of fun, laughs, and team bonding—and it showed exactly what this program is all about:

✔ Growing confidence
✔ Supporting each other on and off the water

🔔 Whistling on a Boat
Some sailors believed whistling on a boat could summon stronger winds.
Others believed it would actually anger the wind and bring storms.
Either way… sailors have always had a complicated relationship with wind.
