“I ran an appointment last night on a $6 B lead that was generated in December 2017. When I pulled up he was waiting outside on his front steps and immediately said, “I’m kind of getting tired of this whole process where some agent calls me, comes out and wastes everyone’s time by showing me a policy for $200/mo. You’re the 7th (SEVENTH!!!) agent that’s come out here and if you’re going to pitch me on some sort of policy with a high price tag then there’s no need to go inside. I’m on a fixed income and I just want some sort of coverage with a decent price to help my son if anything happens to me.”

So I said let’s go in and talk, you can tell me what you were hoping to find in the way of coverage and I’ll give you some options.

He had a confused look on his face and asked, “you don’t have some sort of planned out demonstration or presentation already worked out like all the others?”

My reply, “why would I do that without even talking to you first? I don’t know what your goals are, what health your in, your budget or anything about you.”

I was starting to get a pretty good idea about why the others weren’t able to help this man.

FAST FORWARD

Turns out all he ever wanted was a policy for $25,000 in order to cover funeral expenses and enough of the mortgage until things could be settled or sold so that it didn’t burden his son with extra financial stresses. The premium - $63.50 nowhere near the $200+ that the previous 6 agents showed him AND no medical exam needed.
