Imagine, on top of every other crazy thing going on right now, that now your school system is completely down. Not only down, but they do not have access to anything that was not printed on paper before the attack: no contact info, no grades, nada.
School owned device in the house? Now there may be an actively compromised computer acting as an agent looking to reach out and share the "love" with all those company laptops sitting on the same home networks.
