"Pet insurance is one of the most valuable protections owners can secure, both for themselves and for their furry friends. For dog owners to maximize their protections (and minimize their costs), they should shop around to compare lenders and policies. But they should also understand the differences between cost and coverage as it pertains to different dog breeds. Finally, they should avoid waiting to apply until the time their dog is sick, as that could result in absence of coverage when needed most — or a total rejection of their application."
Pet insurance tips dog owners should know Pet insurance for dogs can be both comprehensive and cost-effective (if owners understand these three tips).

Are auto insurance rates still on the rise and what is contributing to the sweeping increases?
Your Auto Insurance Keeps Going Up. Even Insurers Are Losing. The new inflation report had lots of good news. Then, there was the staggering increase in vehicle-insurance prices.

"While finding ways to save money is always a top priority of mine, financial savings sometimes come with a different price: risk. The thought of having cheap insurance that doesn't adequately cover myself or others in an accident is nerve-wracking. Going with a cheaper company with lower customer service rankings or poor claims reviews could be more of a headache than it's worth."
I used to keep switching car insurance for the best rate, but now I think paying more is worth the money I thought I was being frugal by just getting the cheapest car insurance available, but now that I'm paying more, it's worth the extra cost.

The History of Brooks, Todd & McNeil
The early beginnings of our agency began with George Davis Wadhams (born Jan. 1, 1800 in Cornwall, CT. -died June 11, 1862). He was a very energetic and enterprising person who became involved in many companies, was one of the leading businessmen in Torrington and was a pioneer in manufacturing. In 1839, he was the first insurance agent to represent the Aetna Insurance Company in Torrington.
In 1861, Isaac W. Brooks (born in Goshen, CT. Nov. 8, 1838 dies 1916) the son of Watts H. Brooks and Mary Wadhams Brooks, was involved in continuing the insurance agency. From 1861 to 1872, Isaac W. Brooks and his brother John W. Brooks were partners in a general merchandise store in Goshen, CT. where they also sold steamship tickets and insurance as a part of the general business.
In 1872, Isaac W. Brooks and his brother, John W. Brooks came to Torrington where they established the first and only Banking House known as Brooks Brothers Bank. For twenty-seven years, no other bank was necessary here.
It is interesting to note that Isaac W. Brooks and Charles L. McNeil, who established the Burns, Brooks and McNeil Insurance Agency in the mid 1800's, also were among the founders of the Torrington Water Company and the Torrington Electric Company. They built a building for those companies in 1911 at 69 Water Street, which we purchased in 1995 and in which we presently operate. In a sense, we have returned "home".
Gordon C. Todd and his partner purchased the Burns, Brooks & McNeil Insurance Agency, from John H. Brooks and Harold J. Burns on December 15, 1980. Stephen G. Todd is now President and Gordon C. Todd is Chairman of the board.
Our agency has grown over nine times and we have branch sales offices in Enfield, South Windsor, Granby and Smyrna, Georgia.
