All our customers, both M&T Bank and our new customers from People’s United, should now have access to their accounts online, using our app, in our branches, and at 2,200 M&T Bank ATMs. We are open for business across our entire footprint. As we communicated over the past few weeks, this weekend was a significant one for our customers, while we transitioned systems and converted accounts.

While you may be experiencing longer than normal wait times, we expect this delay to be temporary as we continue to address these issues to make it easier for you to access your accounts quickly.

We appreciate your patience and look forward to serving you. In the meantime, here are some steps you can take if you experience delays:

1. Log on to our Online Banking system at mtb.com to check balances, transfer funds and pay bills. If you experienced challenges earlier, please try again. Note: For former People’s United customers, there is a special First Time Log-In link that will make the transition as easy as possible. It is just for the first time only. After that, customers are able to log on to mtb.com.

2. Use our automated telephone banking system to check balances and recent activity.

3. Use one of our 2,200 ATMs to check balances, make deposits and access cash.

4. Many common questions and challenges, including Bill Pay and account access, are addressed at our multimedia welcome center, which also includes comprehensive FAQs and demonstration videos: https://www3.mtb.com/peoples.

Important reminders as we transition People's United to M&T Bank this weekend:

For People’s United customers—People's United Mobile and Online Banking are no longer available. Throughout this weekend, you can use your ATM, debit, and credit cards to access your accounts. On Tuesday, September 6, you can begin using M&T Mobile, Online Banking and M&T branches.

For M&T Mobile and Online Banking customers—Beginning Saturday afternoon, September 3, M&T Mobile and Online Banking will be unavailable for up to 36 hours as we work to transition the People’s United accounts to M&T.

In observance of Labor Day, our branches will be closed on Monday, September 5. We look forward to welcoming you in branches, online and mobile on Tuesday, September 6.

For decades, Angela DeLeon, Senior Community Relations Specialist at People’s United has made it her mission to provide Senior Sensitivity Training programs to police officers throughout Connecticut so they can help older adults in their communities when they're called to offer assistance.

Through her programs, Deleon teaches them how to recognize and adapt to physical impairments as well as cognitive impairments in older adults. She also educates the public about financial scams and how to avoid becoming a victim of fraud.

She recently conducted her training program with incoming recruits in Bridgeport, Trumbull, Madison and Fairfield, CT. Thank you Angela for your important work and collaboration with our local police forces.

For more than 20 years VT based Angel Flight NE has coordinated more than 103,000 free flights for patients who need to access life-saving medical care outside of their geographic area thanks to the nonprofit’s many volunteer pilots.

One of those volunteers is People’s United’s Kirk Walters. For years he has taken his passion for flying to new heights as an Angel Flight pilot, helping ease the burden patients face so they can focus on what matters most, their recovery and family.
