It’s a beautiful Japanese ceramics and tableware goods store and everything is handmade! I was so tempted to buy everything inside here and spend all my money! They also have rotating exhibits every month so it’s basically also like an art 🖼️ gallery too! Plus in addition to all the mugs and pots they sell, they also offer matcha and tea too! 🍵

🚨 PSA: This viral Japanese omurice is back in town due to popular demand! 🇯🇵🍳

If you missed it the first time, now’s your chance! Ikura, the Fukuoka-born restaurant behind those mouthwatering omurice hamburgs, has returned to SoCal for another limited-time pop-up, this time at Chinchikurin Torrance. Their first pop-up back in April drew huge crowds and long lines, so it’s no surprise they’re back for round two! 🔥

One thing I highly recommend is grabbing a seat at the bar so you can watch the chefs work their magic right in front of you. There’s something so satisfying about seeing their signature fluffy eggs being flipped on the open teppan before they land on your plate. 👨‍🍳✨

I tried two flavors: the Creamy Mentaiko Sauce ($27) and the Demi-Glace Sauce ($23). The mentaiko version is rich, creamy, and packed with savory cod roe flavor. The egg is incredibly soft and runny, and it pairs perfectly with the juicy, well-seasoned hamburg hidden inside. 🤤🍳

As delicious as that was, my favorite has to be the Demi-Glace. It’s also their most popular flavor, and I can totally see why. The sauce is deeply savory with a balanced umami flavor that feels classic and comforting. You can order any of these with or without the hamburg, but I personally think the extra protein makes every bite even better and helps soak up all those amazing sauces. 🍛❤️

Fun fact 🐾: Every omelette gets a tiny paw print at the end! It represents the owner’s dog, Ikura, giving their stamp of approval before each dish leaves the kitchen.
