All certified staff should be completing a self-assessment and developing their professional goals for the year. These are due by the end of the month!
We are pleased to announce that the Bargaining Unit has ratified the proposed changes to the 23-24 Professional Negotiated Agreement!
Those changes now head to the TPS Board of Education for their ratification.
We have also ratified the MOUs for increased pay for After-School Tutoring and Summer School. Those MOUs will be signed soon.

This year Topeka Public Schools has placed 3 no school pending inclement weather days on the academic calendar. Mark your calendar and look for more information as winter gets underway.
Friday is the last day to enroll (or decline) your benefits. Please log into the site and complete the process before 11:59pm!
Benefit enrollment is open until midnight August 18th.

The Hays NEA has once again opened the online store for Proud Kansas Educator as well as Proud Kansas Education Supporter shirts. They are now available in several different colors as well as styles. The store will close at midnight on September 10, so don’t delay if you want to purchase.
Once again, any amounts over the printing price (varies with the style selected) will be donated to KPAC, so when you purchase a shirt, you are agreeing to donate any small amount over the printing price to KPAC.
Shipping is available or we can pick up shirts here in Hays.
If you do NOT want the Cottonwood leaf on the back, please make sure to order the “NO LOGO” styles. The supporter shirt will have NO logo on the back.

Bargaining unit staff received an email on their TPS email account today. The email came from [email protected] (our amazing administrative assistant) and contained a Survey Monkey.
This email allows bargaining unit members to vote on the ratification of 3 items:
- the proposed 23-24 negotiated agreement
- the proposed 2024 summer school staff pay
- the proposed 23-24 after school program pay

In case you missed it, we finished negotiations for the 2023-2024 school year on Wednesday. Members received an update in their personal email inbox today. Bargaining unit members will receive an update via work email next week.
Topeka USD 501 teachers are set to get a $2,000 pay increase. Here are the details. Topeka USD 501's new starting salary for teachers is believed to be among the highest in Kansas.
