When we say 'any project, any time,' we mean it! Check out the latest community project completed by Bert on our Facility Services Team for the Community Action Head Start program. They requested our help with their outdoor library, which needed repairs. We rebuilt most of it, painted it, and donated books to fill it. The best part? Some of the students got involved in the project by adding their personal touch - decorating the newly renovated library with colorful handprints. ❤️

Thank you to Security Benefit for organizing and hosting a diaper drive for our Diaper Depot program. They collected 55 boxes of diapers for our Diaper Depot program & have offered to make this an annual event. We’re looking forward to growing our partnership with such an amazing & generous organization!!

Arab Shrine donates 80 tickets to the United Way of Kaw Valley for kids to attend the circus The Arab Shrine Circus is coming to town and kids at Community Action Head Start get the opportunity to experience the thrill of this annual event.

As of today, the following locations will operate as 24/7 Warming Centers:

The Topeka Warming Center: 206 NW Norris (Topeka Rescue Mission, Valeo, Breakthrough House, Street Dog Coalition)

Fellowship Hi-Crest: 455 SE Golf Park Blvd

Jerusalem/ God’s Way Church: 1407 SE 6th Street

Overnight Warming Center only:

Central Park Christian Church: 1535 SW Clay

A huge Thank You to our CAHS staff who braved the cold yesterday to go out and find water for us to follow the boil advisory!

CAHS will be using bottled/boiled water for all food prep, drinking, tooth-brushing and student hand washing!

Due to drastic low weather temperatures and conditions, Community Action Head Start will not have school for any students on Tuesday, Jan.16, 2023

School is canceled, today, January 10,2024 for all Community Action Head Start students.

There will be no school Tuesday, January 9, 2024 due to inclement weather.

Due to developing weather conditions, Community Action Head Start will be releasing students at 12:00 p.m. this afternoon. Lunch is being served early to accommodate the release time. Please be safe!
