New Perspectives: African American and African diaspora studies minor now available - Washburn University Alumni Association and Foundation Washburn’s African American and African diaspora studies minor was developed not only from a need, but an expectation brought forward by students and faculty to help address the topics of race, power and privilege.
Thank you! Washburn University's African American and African Diaspora Studies program raised $1555 from 16 gifts and a match donation from the WU Board of Trustees this week as part of the Washburn Day of Giving!

Join the AN317 Peoples and Cultures of Africa students and read Things Fall Apart, by literary giant Chinua Achebe (1930-2013)—you won’t be disappointed! Things Fall Apart takes place in pre-colonial Nigeria and is one of the most widely read books in modern African literature. We are just getting started with our semester-long conversation on topics. In AN317 Peoples and Cultures of Africa, Dr. Sundal made us aware of "The Great Green Wall" film - check out the powerful trailer and then join the conversation concerning deforestation and desertification.
