As we are at the beginning of another amazing year, we are happy to continue to build on our successes and provide as many opportunities and experiences for students. If you are willing and able, the Topeka High Band has a wishlist of items that you could have shipped directly to the schools. We will also be collecting some donations throughout the year for trip/travel scholarships. Any little bit helps! Hoy, Hoy! 😄🎶💛🖤

We are looking forward to performing the skills we have learned so far at camp! We’d love for parents and families to arrive at 7:00pm at the north gym for our march around the track, then we will do some games, and preview our pregame and halftime performances. We will be ready to take any completed paperwork, collect fees, and answer questions as needed. If you didn’t get the packet yesterday, we will have more available tonight! See you there! It was a great morning for some marching fundamentals and some marching sectionals by our north gym for band camp! And special thanks for our Band Backers and Azura Credit Union for providing drinks and snacks for the students! We appreciate our community! Hoy, Hoy! 😄🎶💛🖤

We had some great sectionals time this morning and we had a fun time “sharing our music” with the staff members in the school. Lots of progress! Hoy, Hoy! 😄🎶💛🖤

Fun on our tie-dye day of band camp! We were able to use the band room, north gym, and our field for learning some band skills and making friends! Hoy Hoy! 😄🎶💛🖤 and thanks to our Band Backers for water and Gatorade!

Our Marshall’s Civic Band concert starts in 15 minutes at 7:00pm at the Gage Park Amphitheater in Topeka. It’s a free concert, and we would love to see you! 😄🎶

The Drumline had a great opportunity yesterday to play for professional softball players in Wichita, and they were even on ESPN2! Wow! Hoy, Hoy! 😄🎶💛🖤

Have you ever wondered what happens with all of those Topeka Public Schools instruments that you rent over the summer?
They go back to the Service Center, and 3-4 of our music teachers take to cleaning and servicing EVERY one of them, getting them ready for the next school year. We take care of simple things in-house, and send more complicated repairs out to our local business partners.
Mrs. Antonetti has been working with the woodwind instruments for many years, and will care for and clean over 400 woodwind instruments this summer! The brass instruments are taken care of by Mr. Carlson and Mr. Moss, and the stringed instruments are taken care of by Ms. Jackson.

Happy Father’s Day to all of our amazing band dads! We are thankful for your help with Band Backers, water, pizza, fixing and building, and all of the other ways you help and support students! 😄🎶💛🖤 We are always looking for more volunteers to help support our students, so let us know if you want to be involved!

Tonight, Mr. Carlson and Topeka High’s head director, Mrs. Antonetti got to share the stage as guest musicians with the Baker University Symphonic Winds. Big thanks to Dr. Perez for the invitation!
