Though it was not a winning victory, it was a victory in the experience. A preparation of what God has in store for me for the next step. Thank you all for your support.

Voted!! And, an opportunity to teach Aubrey what this is about. She even had her own (sample) ballot.

"Todd is a man of integrity, a very hardworking man, a man who above all loves God and also knows our community very well."

To round out our Kansas House endorsements, we are pleased to announce our endorsement of Todd Staerkel for Kansas, an educator at Washburn University. When elected, Todd will use his soap box to support law enforcement officers, as well as pass the desperately needed Parents Bill of Rights!
Honored to sing the national anthem at the Patriot rally today!!

We’re at the homecoming parade at Washburn University!!!
I was out walking the other day. I saw plumbers, concrete guys, a family leaving their house together, etc. My point being that here we all are (normal people) living in a difficult time. Inflation is high, fuel is high and wages don’t seem to be enough for a lot of people. How many of us understand that is a vicious cycle. Fuel price increases which drives the price of product which in turn drives the price of wages to compensate for a higher cost of living. I’m not sure the answer here, but I’m sure of this-the high prices are here to stay. I’ve never heard of deflation except with a balloon. This isn’t a game here. People are struggling and a lot of them are frustrated.

Thank you, WIBW, for the opportunity to share my thoughts on the Red Couch.
Election 2022: Todd Staerkel, (R) KS House Dist. 55 candidate Todd Staerkel is the Republican in the KS House Dist. 55 race.
Good Saturday morning. Gonna be out walking again today. Please stop me and talk if you see me. I want to connect with all of you at some point to hear what is important to you and what is concerning to you. It’s time to take a stand in this district for what is right and just. I’m thanking God for what we’re trying to accomplish in this district. We are in the final days. Your prayers are appreciated. See you out there.
As many of you can see, my signs are going up. If you would like to support me by placing a sign in your yard, message me with your address and I’ll be sure you get one. Thank you all for your support. Just a month to go.

I was out walking a rough part of the district yesterday. Talked to a lovely, older couple that was just sitting on their front deck. A civil conversation with two democrats-isn’t this the way it should be. People talking may have differing opinions. What we did talk about is the amount of money being sent outside this country while we have people in need of help here. Homeless, kids/people who are hungry. Those suffering from inflation struggling to feed their families. Those who are on fixed incomes trying to keep up with the rising costs of products and fuel. I don’t know the answers, but would like to try to make a difference. As I walk this district, I see those who are living in pretty poor areas to those living very well. How can we help those who seem to be struggling? I was asked yesterday-“what’s your slogan? You need to have a slogan.” Why do people want to see or read something flashy that lasts for a moment? We (the people) need to start thinking beyond what’s good for us today. I’ve said that education is important to me. That isn’t focused on classroom and school only. We need to allow ourselves to learn how we can better our circumstances. How to live on what we make if that’s possible. How to live with one another without conflict-not without differing opinions. We will all disagree on something at sometime. We need to understand that and accept that. This doesn’t mean I’m easily persuaded on my beliefs and stances. It means I want to live civilly with my neighbors.

Went to the Kenwood neighborhood meeting tonight to meet some more folks in the 55th district. Such a great feel of community and watching out for each other and really knowing each other. They had their liaison officer there to advise about what to be looking for and what not to do even though you live in a good neighborhood. Good to see our friend Judy Wilson there talking about “safe streets”. Loved seeing this and would love to see more of this in our neighborhoods of the 55th district. Yay Kenwood!!!

Thought this was interesting. Any thoughts?

What States Tax Food? What States Tax Food?

Had a great time at the Black Republicans shoot today meeting people in the party and those committed to defending the second amendment. Thank you Ravenwood and Ken Corbett. Thank you to my wife and little niece for helping with walking afterward. It’s encouraging to see our niece wanting to meet people and ask for their vote. Long day but well worth the time spent.
Had a really good meet and greet last night with a group of people from the westboro area. So many concerns about education and parental rights. We should know what our kids are being taught in schools and have the ppportunity to opt them out of certain subjects we don’t agree with. We should take closer looks at vouchers to attend the school of your choosing too. That’s going to hard to figure out with what taxes go where and how much. It could create some more incentive for kids to thrive when given an opportunity thrive in an environment more suitable to their upbringing and personalities. The kids are our future.

I want to do something different. I want to actually be a representative of the people of my district, not a politician. I've been told it can't be done. I think it can.
If elected as District 55 Representative, I will make sure your voice is heard. I will hear your concerns, and respond, and represent. I will set up a public forum (FB or otherwise) where the issues that concern you are openly discussed and we can hear from every citizen of District 55 first, and find solutions that help us all, not just certain groups of people.
I want to meet you personally. I'd love to come to your neighborhood, your home, your park, church, or other public setting to meet as many of you as possible, to hear as many of you as possible. Please reach out to me and I'll rearrange my schedule to meet you and speak with you and listen to you.
I had a meet and greet in the Norton neighborhood a couple weeks ago, and one in Westboro tonight. There are so many other neighborhoods and people to meet though! Contact me to set up a day and time!
Big big thank you to the folks at Capper Foundation for the print job. One of the many things this organization does to help the community and those who are getting help from them for their disabilities. You should check them out if you have a job like this. Great organization.
Education is a life long endeavor. It doesn’t stop when you graduate from high school, college, or graduate programs. I believe that our tax dollars should be used in a way that benefits our children the most. If we want to send our kid to a private school, why shouldn’t that tax money go to that school or back in our pocket to help pay for tuition for our child. It should be our choice to decide where and how our child is educated. Life after high should include encouraging our kids to pursue what they are gifted at so they have the best education to succeed. We need kids in trade schools. Not all kids are college material. Not all kids are tech school material. I just feel we need to encourage our kids that our value isn’t found in our salaries, it’s what we can contribute to society. Please please comment me and let me know how you all feel on this subject.
Spent quite a few hours this weekend and this morning walking the Historic Holiday Park neighborhood. It has some great old houses. What’s your favorite neighborhood in the district?

Many many thanks for those walking today especially my wife and niece. We reached out to a bunch of people.
What’s really important to you in a representative?
Need volunteers for dropping literature in the district this weekend. Please comment below or call me!
Stay tuned for more…..

I'd love to see more community building in District 55. Please leave a favorite small business name and address in the comments so we can support small businesses in our district! I'll highlight different District 55 businesses in the coming weeks.
