TXEBS recently relocated from the Houston area to South Texas in Three Rivers, about 45 mins north of Corpus Christi and 90 minutes south of San Antonio.

After the New Year when we get our new facility fully established, we will start offering a basic explosives course for the general public, in addition to blasting services throughout Texas.

With explosives, sometimes a little bit goes a long way.

Here we have a very small piece of rigid Linear Shaped Charge (LSC) that we’ll be using to puncture a pressurized container for a customer later in the week. We’re using just a touch of C4 to initiate the RDX in the LSC, with the detcord allowing us to offset the blasting cap to not interfere with the detonation.

Using a LSC like this allows us to use a very small amount of explosives to puncture a vessel in a reliable and predictable manner, without damaging anything around it.
