📍POSSESSION SCHEDULE NOTICE📍

Happy Mother's Day Weekend!

For those fathers who have a possession schedule in which you have possession of your child(ren) on the 1st, 3rd and 5th weekends of the month, this upcoming weekend is indeed the 1st weekend; however, holidays trump regular visitation, so Moms should have possession this weekend from 6:00 p.m. on Friday until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, generally speaking.

Check your own Order to confirm this, but this is a question we have received a lot this week. Understanding your Order fully helps to avoid unnecessary conflict between parties, so if you need help understanding your Order, we are happy to assist.

FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN DEBT UPDATE:

On Dec. 4, 2020, U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos extended federal student loan flexibilities. Currently, the 0% student loan interest rate and suspension of payments on federal student loans owned by the Department of Education (ED) are set to continue through Jan. 31, 2021.

Make sure to check StudentAid.gov/coronavirus regularly for the latest information on these flexibilities and when they are scheduled to end.

What does this mean?
• You are not required to make payments on ED-owned student loans until after Jan. 31, 2021, and no interest will accumulate.

• Payments you would have made, but are no longer required to make, will count toward income-driven repayment plan loan forgiveness.

• If you have a Direct Loan and work full-time for a qualifying employer during the suspension of payments, then you will receive credit toward Public Service Loan Forgiveness or Temporary Expanded Public Service Loan Forgiveness for the period of suspension as though you made on-time monthly payments in the correct amount while on a qualifying repayment plan.

• If you can continue paying your federal student loans while your loans are at the 0% interest rate, your payments may further reduce the principal balance of your federal student loan once your outstanding interest has been paid. If you are already making voluntary payments, nothing changes. If not, you may make voluntary payments by contacting your federal loan servicer.

It is FREE and being hosted by a former Olympic Gymnast who specializes in fitness and nutrition for kids. Great information, an easy format for viewing and it is FREE!
