I can't thank my friend and guest Francisco Marentez for taking time to sit down with me and our guests earlier today. Those that were in attendance witnessed a man share his passion, his WHY, his raw story. Running a business can be daunting, life throws challenges at you and you either figure out your next step and move forward...or quit. There is no quit in my friend, as self-motivated of a person as I am that jolt of inspiration this morning was welcomed. When your guest can bring members in the audience to tears, his/her story is resonating with them. I don't rehearse my Q&A with my guests, I allow them to be as authentic and open as they want. Local Marine Business Owner recognized by The Texas Business Hall of Fame - Hello Woodlands

I share with clients often that no one will tell your story with the passion and grit like you can, and yes we all have a story. How are you telling your story, it's not about "look at me, look at me!" If you know me personally you've heard me say "I have a face for radio," yet I have to place my insecurities aside and do what I know works to move forward and grow my business.

As uncomfortable as I am posting or sharing images of myself, I know the importance of being seen doing what we say we do. Your website, your social media, YOUR story is marketing when you're not looking. Think about YOUR story, are you sharing it, is it resonating with clients or potential clients? My story, article announcing I was launching my business, was published by Hello Woodlands in November. It served as a marketing piece, sometime between January and March it was viewed by the Texas Business Hall of Fame. The rest, as it is said, is history.

Local Marine Business Owner recognized by The Texas Business Hall of Fame - Hello Woodlands THE WOODLANDS, TX - Local Marine Business Owner, Miguel Lopez of Conganas LLC, was recognized by The Texas Business Hall of Fame.

Earlier this week the Texas Business Hall of Fame announced the 44 recipients of the 2022 Future Texas Business Legends Awards. I am grateful and honored to have been named as one of the four veteran owned businesses selected throughout the State.

Though I am a solo-preneur, there have been many that have had a hand in elevating me, inspiring me, even challenging me to get where I am — and I’m not done. A special nod and virtual hug to my friends at Hello Woodlands (Jennifer Bruse and Rod) for sharing an article (a story) on this jarhead launching his business back in November that got this recognition in motion.

Muchas gracias to many I have bounced ideas off of, shared my vision with, expressed concerns, sometimes just vented, etc. The journey of an entrepreneur can be un poquito loco at times, but something that never gets old or mundane is working with and assisting business owners and entrepreneurs succeed in their venture. Onward and upward!

Conganas, LLC was happy to be the inaugural book sponsor of the month (May) for the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce. Moving forward the Professional Development Committee, led by Mario Valadez, for the chamber will select a book to award as a door prize at the different chamber functions. Congrats to Stormie Caldwell with Oasis Senior Advisors North Houston, and Yvonne Brast with Quality of Life Chiropractic - Magnolia for going home with a copy of "Traction" (Gino Hickman).

If you own a business, or run a team/department, you are well aware that consumers can be quick to broadcast not only that they received terrible service at your place of business or organization, but they will share just HOW bad it was.

It's easy to think of customer service as those things we do to make a clients experience more pleasurable. In reality, customers typically start assessing how terrible the customer service is when they feel a problem wasn't addressed, or worse they are being ignored. Yes, all the service offerings are an important facet and contribute to their positive experience. It's how we are as problem solvers that leaves an impression.

Recently I had a discussion with a service provider, one of the topics was setting his price point. Regardless of the industry, there are certain things that need to be considered; cost of goods sold, business expenses, current market climate (are people paying for that product/service, and if so how much), and the quality of your product or service are a few of the things to keep in mind when making this decision. One item to consider, and that I have seen get overlooked often, is YOUR time. Your time does, should, have a value attached to it. This is especially true for service providers. Don't undersell yourself or your services.

I've been to many a golf tournament, not because I'm a great golfer by any means. This week I participated as a sponsor, and I want to thank Pete Garcia and the rest of the team with the US Mexico Chamber of Commerce - Houston / The Woodlands / Gulf Coast for a great day of golf at their annual golf tournament. It was great to see and reconnect with old friends, but yeah it was kinda cool for team Conganas, LLC winning the golf tournament! I mean I did bring my ringer who in case there was any doubt also took the longest drive. 🙌🦸‍♀️

This week was the inaugural , and what a great way to kick off the week. I've been asked why this, whats different, do I have to pay? No memberships, no dues, no required referrals to anyone in the room. I wanted to create and implement an opportunity for business professionals and owners to organically meet and connect. No timed spills or elevator pitch, there was ample time provided at the beginning and end for individuals to connect.

A HUGE thank you to Julio Resendez, CEO & founder Orbiter, who was very transparent with his answers and explanation of his thought process behind decisions he made in order to keep moving forward with the business. One of the things he shared was where he got the drive that kept him moving forward, his family/his up bring.🙌 Again, gracias Julio Resendez for not just being an open book with us but for me personally your friendship. I'm looking forward to Orbiter going live hermano.

Cisco, as many know him as, has been in the fitness industry going on 23 years at the collegiate, professional and corporate levels. The last 10 years he has been in the private sector. As you can imagine alot has happened in those 23 years, and he has agreed to sit down share regarding his journey both in business and life including the missteps. I recommend the Business Model Canvas (BMC) to entrepreneurs as a starting point for creating a business plan, especially when I see (or feel) anxiety creeping in when I mention the words "business plan". Another way I like to utilize the BMC is to gain a better understanding of your competition. Try it, pick a competitor and go through the BMC. The elements you don't have answers to will force you to do some research, thus making you more aware of your competitions strengths, weaknesses, and limits.
