Just wanted to let all know that my Mom will be having her 3rd Heavenly Birthday on August 19th. I managed to get 2 Masses said for today. 1 in the morning by Father EUGENE at MaryLake in King City, Ontario and the Other will be at the main Parish for Burks Falls in Kearney, Ontario at Saint Patrick's for the Saturday Evening Mass! It's the Feast Day of Saint John Eudes; quite a good man, I read! If you can't attend, then your thoughts and Prayers would be most welcome. Thanks in advance. Blessings to you all on this amazing page!

PIARISTS ARE MINISTERS TO YOUTH

The image of the child musician crying was classified as one of the most emotional photographs of modern history. This photo was taken of a 12-year-old Brazilian boy (Diego Frazzo Turkato), playing the violin at the funeral of his teacher who rescued him from the environment of poverty and crime in which he lived.
In this image, humanity speaks with the strongest voice in the world: "Cultivate love and kindness in a child to sow the seeds of compassion. And only then you will build a great civilization, a great nation "...

Fr. Victor Carreras Sch.P. was recently assigned to Cuba. On the day of his departure for Cuba, he was robbed of all of his belongings at the Mexico City Airport. He could sure use some special holiday kindness. During our meeting, he humbly asked if there was a way he could acquire a bike. I said I'd post it and see if there was anyone with a connection or interested in helping out. If you can help, call 954-771-6525 or email to the following: [email protected].

Pope encourages youth to be at home and protagonists in Church

Pope Francis greets young people around the world marking the diocesan World Youth Day celebrated on this Solemnity of Christ the King. He encourages them to feel at home in the Church and to be protagonists today, hepling the Church in her mission of living and proclaiming the Gospel in our lives and communities.

At the conclusion of the Sunday Angelus, Pope Francis greeted young people around the world who are celebrating World Youth Day, traditionally held on the Solemnity of Christ the King. Two nineteen year-olds from the Diocese of Rome stood on either side of the Pope as he appeared for the Sunday appointment in Saint Peter's Square. He passed the microphone to one of them who greeted young people on this special day.

The Pope encouraged young people to feel at home in the Church and to be protagonists today, an integral part of the mission of proclaiming the Good News. He offered his "heartfealt" greetings to all young people, encouraging them to remember on this Feast of Christ the King, that "to reign is to serve", encouraging everyone to repeat those words. Pope Francis tells young people to dream and take a bite out of life with Jesus in their heart

His thoughts then turned to today's international World Fisheries Day where he called attention to those who work in this field in difficult conditions or even forced labour. He also paid tribute to the pastoral service provided by chaplains of Stella Maris, an agency of the Catholic Church which offers practical and pastoral care to all seafarers.

As today also marks the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, Pope Francis also called for prayers for victims of road accidents and those working to prevent them. He also voiced his encouragement on initiatives taking place at the United Nations aimed at greater control over the arms trade.
Finally, the Pope paid tribute to Blessed Fr. Jan Franciszek Macha, beatified yesterday in Katowice, Poland, killed in hatred for the faith in 1942 during the persecution against the Church during the N**i regime. In the darkness of prison, he found in God the strength and humility to face that calvary, the Pope noted, and may his martyrdom be a seed for us all rich in hope and peace.

Celebrating Independence Day in our Piarist schools in Poland, to commemorate the anniversary of the restoration of Poland's sovereignty as the Second Polish Republic in 1918 from the German, Austro-Hungarian and Russian Empires. Following the partitions in the late 18th century, Poland ceased to exist for 123 years until the end of World War I, when the destruction of the neighbouring powers allowed the country to reemerge. It is a non-working day and a flag flying day in Poland.

In a world where we are what we believe, we believe we can conquer the world and give it all truly conquering it... We created!
I can't help but thank God for 23 wonderful years. I keep walking, growing, changing, living... I lift up my prayer for all that I have left, what was and what I am.
I thank everyone who in one way or another congratulated me on this special day. They made it extra special. Pray for me as I continue in my Piarist vocation, and I am sure there are others who want to join me. God bless you all. Cheer up.
Don't forget to pray for me and my community. We carry on, by the Grace of God!

WORLD MISSION SUNDAY AND THE CURE OF ARS

One day the saintly Curé d'Ars was visited by a Protestant gentleman. The good priest, thinking he was a Catholic, began to speak to him about Our Lord and the Saints, as he was accustomed to do with all who came to see him.
.
As the man rose to leave, the Saint gave him a medal as a small remembrance of his visit.
.
The gentleman said to him: “Dear sir, you have given a medal to one who is a heretic – at least, I am a heretic from your point of view. But although we are not of the same religion, I hope we shall both be in Heaven one day.”
.
St. John Vianney took the man’s hand in his own and, giving him a penetrating look, answered: “Alas, my friend. We cannot be together in Heaven unless we have begun to live so in this world. Death makes no change in that. As the tree falls, so shall it lie.”
.
“But, my good Father,” replied the other, “I put my trust in Jesus Christ, Who said, ‘He that believes in Me shall have eternal life.’”
.
The priest answered: “Jesus Christ said many more things than that. He also said, ‘He that does not hear the Church, let him be to thee as a heathen and a publican.’ And he also said, ‘There shall be one fold and one shepherd,’ and He made St. Peter the chief shepherd of His flock.”
.
Then he added, “My dear friend, there are not two ways of serving Jesus Christ. There is only one good way, and that is to serve Him as He Himself desires to be served.”
.
Saying this, the priest left the man. But these words sank deeply into the Protestant’s heart, and led him to renounce the errors in which he had been brought up, and he became a fervent Catholic.
