Please be aware when applying to rental properties folks!
Scammers will steal pictures and property descriptions and then post them on a fake profile to make you believe it’s their property. (Like the ‘company’ in this post)
Yes many are sophisticated and come across as legit listings but typically there is a red flag somewhere.
If they try to take money directly from you upfront, can’t speak English or the spelling of the ad is incorrect - they are most likely a scammer.

•Ask detailed questions about the area of the property. A scammer won’t know that info.
•Request a phone number- often times they can’t provide one and if they do it’s an unusual number.
•Ask detailed questions about their business, where are they located, etc- interview them!
•Schedule an in person walk thru of the property. If they ask for money beforehand laugh and hang up.
•Never send money up front or give any personal information.
•Report any fake listings to help others avoid costly mistakes.
•Trust your intuition. If it feels off, it probably is.
